I guess it has to be said, that we are all taken as fools just because we have sufficient to spend.
Recently, there has been a lot of renewed RMT activities going on on the Jeuno/Aht Urhgan AH, and I wonder how many people actually realized it. If not for a friend who pointed it out, I would've been in the dark too. There're a handful of characters who have been buying and selling certain items amongst themselves, resulting in huge increases in prices of those items, which I will get to shortly.
If there is a sudden change in prices, don't be fooled by it and still spend that money just because you can afford to. Some of your gils have been flowing out to these RMTers who are only going to warp the whole economy even more through our careless spending.
That said, I'd like to point out that the prices of the following items have been rigged:
- Astral Rings: went up from 80-100k to 250k currently
- Penitent's Rope: 150k to 400k
- Maneater: 120k to 400k
- Elusive Earring: 90k to 350k
- Melody Earring +1: 70k to 270k
- Woodsville's Axe: 100k to 300k
- Brown Belt: 100k to 300k
Some other items that are being sold/bought by suspected RMTs but the prices have been following the market rate include:
- Sniper's Ring
- Flame Ring
- Scouter's Rope (went to 200k but fell back to 60k)
And looking through the auction history, it is not difficult to fish out the suspected RMT syndicate at all, because the items have been bought and sold by the same people, except they are smart enough not to buy the same item repeatedly, even earrings tend to be bought in pairs only.
Names include: Hecter, Jemmie, Lizerut, Pacthird, Vprklue, Avpexe, Seiresa, Ruthrga, Rgherli, Muacki, Dabierg, Votary, Cashout, Janoru, Phaixter, Flattus, Brisko, Xicoroy, Aiegan, Miechay, Chymen, etc etc etc. There's too many to name >.>
While there're probably many who think that they have more than enough gils to spend, so why should they worry about that. "Heck, 300k? I can afford that." Well think again, your gils may end up supporting the RMTs when you purchase that item that coincidentally is sold by one. They get lucky, and that'll further worsen the in-game economy when they have more gils... Who knows, you'd be paying 50k for zinc ore next week. So if you see that the price is totally not right, try to find alternative means of getting the item, or put on hold your plan to buy the item, while at the same time, report what is not right to the Special Task Force Unit. Don't be treated like fools by RMTs, because you don't need to be.
