Friendless and worried :(Follow

#1 Oct 21 2007 at 7:50 PM Rating: Decent
hey guys

im fairly new to the game only started a few weeks ago but already im finding it hard to make friends :( lol ive been into a couple of linkshells but usually find im to low a lvl to join in with ls activities or i get left out of anything that im capable of doing, other than that i just get ignored or laughed at for asking stupid questions. im just hopeing to find a few active players to make game play more enjoyable i have a lvl 18 mnk,12 war, 10 rmd and 8 thf. i find that most of the time combat is the only thing i can do because i lack the knowledge to level any of the craftskills, i spent 1 hour in bastok asking for a lvl 0 cooking recipe and didnt get 1 reply. it took me over 17 hours fishing to reach lvl 1, all little things like this make me think im doing it all wrong lol. so if theres any linkshells out there with ppl willing to help please contact me in game, idc about lvls of ppl, pl doesnt appeal much to me, just a group of nice people to share info with
thanx :)

As for knowledge on craftskills and recipes, it's much easier to browse websites such as Allakhazam than to ask around in Bastok.^^ I compiled some links for you:

General Cooking info
Cooking Guild recipes
Be aware when the Skill Cap is listed as Lv0, it means we don't know the Skill Cap yet. To skill up as a Lv0 cook you'll have to find a recipe that caps at Lv3 for example, then when you reach Lv3 you can't gain skillups from that recipe anymore and you look for a recipe that caps at Lv6, and so on.
Crafting guides
Crafting info

I hope this helps a bit^^ Good luck

Hiya,

If you need an ls, you are welcome to try out ItsAllGood^^ We are just a social shell, all levels welcome. The shell itself is only about a month old, but we already have a lot of members. I think the appeal is that we are only about having fun and not injecting any drama into the shell. And dun worry about asking questions, that's the only way to learn :)

There are a lot of nice people still on this server, so don't get discouraged :3

Best thing for you to do is the offer your help with anything that you can, even if you are unsure if you will be of help. Ask questions, do research on this site and ffxiopedia, plan ahead for future jobs and quests/mission.

This is a huge intimidating game, but as long as you are friendly and helpful, willing to learn and fine tune your playing, you will be fine.

Feel free to /tell me in-game at ehno if you have any questions or need guidance.

Best of luck, and see ya around.

Hi, welcome to the game and the server.

Making friends can be hard I guess, when most people are level 75 with at least one job, and the difference between the needs/activities of a new player and one that hit 50+ is very large. Only thing most people have in common is they wish they had more money.

A list of things that marks your progression/highlights in your early career would be:

Subjob quest finished
Chocobo licence acquired (Zoning into Jeuno for the first time is cool too)
Getting gate crystals, to be able to be teleported to various locations.
Get killed by Sea Horror on the Selbina-Mhaura ferry at least once.
Acquiring Khazam Keys to be able to travel to Khazam and the jungles.
Get rank 2, or better rank 3, for a signet that lasts longer than 1 hour.
Unlock your first advanced job.

These are things that are easier with some guidance, and it's almost impossible to do these things with "a balanced party of level 18-20s" or "three players level 24-26" as you will have trouble finding people in your level range that doesn't already have a job to 75.

If you're MNK18, I suggest the following link for a very general overview of the job:
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Monk:_Guide_to_Playing_the_Job

Food overview that explains why food is helpful: http://ffxi.cannotlinkto/itemdb/food.php

I recommend looking into
Rice Dumplings
Meat Mithkabobs
jack-o-lanterns

Jack-o-Lanterns can be bought at NPC for 1000 gil during the harvest festival, while usually 3k ? on the auction house.
3 AM here now so not digging very deep, but can always look me up in game for advice or escort through things that are too challenging/time demanding alone.

Good luck :)

IAGrealdeal,

If you wont mind, please identify who you are in game. I do not want someone out there representing our LS without knowing who it is that you are. Until such time that he identifies himself, I'll like to warn that whatever he says does not represent our linkshell. And whatever he say is his own words and not from anyone in our linkshell.

Last, I am here to ask you to please change your signature line so it does not contains any references to our linkshell until your identity is known.

Regards,
Dreamin
