All jobs are excellent, I hear monk is pretty good for beginners etc. A small tip, save all crystals and sell your stacks of 12 on Auction House, also DO NOT throw away beastmen seals as you can use them later on to do BCNM (burning circle nortorious monster) battles which drop unique items/equip. Level to 10 in the local area outside of whatever nation you choose, then head to Valrum Desert where you'll party until 20 '.' have fun!

The important thing to remember is that you're not stuck with any one job forever in this game - feel free to try them all out, see what works for you, what you enjoy. You may find a job and fall in love with it right away, or you may choose to relax and do a little of everything.

Never be afraid to ask politely for help and advice in the game either. Most players will be only to happy to answer a question as long as its polite.

I'm not sure how new you are, but it might be an idea to try and find a linkshell if you don't already have one . The first few days as a new player can feel very lonely, so a linkshells kind of like an instant group of people to talk to. I don't play on your server, so I don't have any linkshell recommendations for you, but I'm sure someone can help you out with a couple of good names.
