I am only at level 12 now, but I have yet to really join any full parties yet (Dunes parties) since I have been opting to solo some easy preys and do some quests and missions.

But I have noticed, and this is my question, that I am seeing mutiple people soloing past level 10, which makes me think that people don't often party in the dunes anymore?

I havn't exactly tried to form my own party yet though, so maybe its just me. But I also noticed when I ran to Selbina to buy my Monk Lvl 8 equip, that the only parties there had power levelers.

This just seems odd to me from my past experience but maybe if I take the initiative, I will find making a party and following through with old ways may still be possible.

sometimes its best to solo while you lfp so just incase you dont get a pt

I personally won't party in the dunes any more. I solo at least to 20 if not higher (blu is now 66 and all been solo or duo). You will also notice that it is getting more and more rare to find parties without a PL. It used to just be in the dunes. I've now seen merit parties that have a PL.

I think the idea of soloing has become a strong image in most regular player's heads. It started with BLM, then it became clear you could do it with any job (or mostly.) The fact that dunes is EXACTLY the way you all have described is off-putting as well.

But yeah. Just solo while you LFP. That way you aren't missing out by standing around.
