So, all the snow was starting to melt yesterday, froze over night, and now is solid ice. Picking my brother up from work about an hr ago was fun!

I hate driving on ice.

But then again, I live on top of a hill. On flat land it's not so bad if you're careful. On a hill, you're ****** if you can't get grip. Handbrakes won't do a thing.

We don't get ice so it is fun to play on while it lasts. There is this big hill on the way to a friends house and going down it, I was fish tailing like crazy (on purpose), but going up it was kinda tricky.

I really should have understood this. I was confused because I always associate E-Phrases with the internet, and as far as I'm aware you can't get a remote link from a laptop to your car's brakes. Yet.

This is a true story.

When I asked why, I got told "because you didn't go to any events".

I got invited to one event, which was at 1am my time. I did 3 other events with you (a Cerberus fight, an exp party and a Pixie Weapon Augment fight).

I'm not sure what else I could do. I only know about 4 people and you were either offline or afk (hi, Joey). Non-members don't have access to the upcoming events section of your forum.

Note that I'm not bitter about it, if that's the decision you made then fair enough. I just thought you could pass some advice on to the leaders.

Nah, your timezone just didn't match, in all honesty. Our prime play time start about right now. 3pm PST, 6pmEST when ppl get home. And end around 12am PST, 3am EST. You usually log off by 1-2pm PST, so it just didn't match up. That's why you didn't get a chance to attend many events, you weren't online when we did them, lol. All of our scheduled weekly events are 8:30pm EST and beyond.

But from what I'm reading, he's stating he wasn't even able to SEE when said events are taking place. >_>

For the most part, people will work around their schedule to attend events if it's possible, but to do that, you kinda need to know when/what said event is.

Then you aren't reading what I'm saying.

Our events start 2-3 hours after he logs off.
How can you be expected to be invited if you aren't online.
Even if our schedule was posted, I doubt he's going to stay up 3-5 hours later, just to make the event. Time zones just didn't match. Not a big deal.

Assuming is how Linkshells/Guilds/whatever fail.

It's also how real life companies fail. (Not fail, persay, lose employees, lose customers, etc) You never assume, unless the person has told you specifically they will never do -insert whatever here-.

Anyway, Warhammer? Eww. -.-

you have to bug the people you know to know when they're doing something right now to ask to come to events. then eventually you get a pearl/trial when you show you can be at events and you're worthwhile, it's always been like this for most ls.

I'd ask people when I saw them online.

Kenny wouldn't let me add him to his friend list, Joey was always afk, Xingoo and Tianya were rarely online.

I don't think I know anyone else who's active in Kupo.

Don't want to turn this into a drama thread but honestly, rejecting someone because they don't know what plans you guys have is a bit unfair... and the fact that no one even told me until I managed to catch Joey when he was actually at his keyboard.. I think it went like this:

Me - hey, anything going on in Kupo
Joey - um, you didn't get in
Me - why?
Joey - you didn't go to any events and no one knew who you were, plus you spam Alla which they didn't like*
Me - ...ok
Joey - something about wanting to have *** with me. He does this a lot.

*he honestly said this. I guess having fun and talking to people is not acceptable, then.

Oh, **** it. I'm back with my old LS and they're nice people. Roll on XIV.

No, it was because they didn't like my attitude on Alla. Or that's what I was told, anyway. Yes, we talk some smack, but we aren't nasty with it, and we try to get everyone else to post... they just won't for some reason.

I think I met about 4-5 people from Kupo in total, outside of the ones I knew. It's just so unwelcoming... guys, if you want people to join, you have to help them out, you know? Yes, you don't know me, but remember that also I don't know you, and there's a lot more of you than there are of me...

I asked a couple of people in game about why it's like this tonight and got a fumbled excuse and then silence. I guess it's not just me who's confused by this whole mess, then.

Good luck with your LS, Kupo. Take this as constructive criticism, nothing more.

Anyway, back to Long Thread(TM)

This thread is now about your favourite Lindsay Lohan movie.

I have to go with Mean Girls, closely followed by Herbie: Fully Loaded.

Discuss.

I can't remember if I applied to Kupo or not after I quit Singularity. But when I was in Singularity back in 05 (WOW IT'S BEEN 5 YEARS SINCE THEN) we had a group of Europeans in the shell that did a few events during EU time zone and camped and got spawn times so NA time could camp when it came into NA time. And on Saturdays and Sundays NA started at 9AM PST so EU would still be on.

Having multiple timezones in a shell works good when people communicate effectively.

Oh speaking of old FFXI times. I talked to Mijin in Aion 2 months ago. Smiley: lol We reminisced about everyone hating him. I then showed him this picture.
