Saying you communicate with microbes is like saying you communicate with sand. I mean, maybe you can, but so what? They ain't got nothing to say. "Oh, hey, I'm an E. coli bacteria. I'm five days old and my entire universe is a 0.1mm patch of counter top..."

Will Smith is reportedly in early talks to voice (or be) Genie in the live action Aladdin. I don't think anyone is going to be able to get past the Robin Willaims Genie to give Big Willie a chance. [...] Hopefully Disney rewrites the character completely to better fit Smith and not try to recapture what made Williams great in that role

I'd be 100% fine with a live action (well, CGI) genie who wasn't imitating Ed Sullivan and Howard Cosell. Of course, now we'll get one saying "Aw, Heelll NAWH!!"

I think the idea being that these microbes would communicate among themselves, and likely having some type of intelligence know what was going on around them.

Maybe you could convince those E. coli to go attack someone too? Aquaman, but with germs.

Edit:

I bought a copy of Teen Titans Judas Contract. But it didn't have the digital copy slip inside. So I returned it to the store, but opened the second copy while at the customer service desk (cause I didn't trust it). It too was missing the slip. So I went back to the electronics section and talked with the guy there. It took three times before we found a copy with the digital code inside.

Looks like they messed up production on it. Never had an issue with the Digital copies before. The clerk just gave me the slip out of the one that had it and said they'd return all the bad ones as missing product and not bother processing the return/exchange on my original receipt.

It worked out pretty well for Merlin in Disney's Sword in the Stone.

According to James Gunn, he was in the process of having Adam Warlock in Vol 2 but it was too many characters to juggle and ultimately had to cut. Though between Gunn and Kevin Feige they say that Warlock will appear in the future, but not before Avengers: Infinity War. Now, combine this with Gunn confirming he will return for the third movie and there being a direct follow up to conclude Infinity War, my guess would be he'll be introduced in Guardians and play a main role in the Avengers ultimately taking out Thanos. Presumably taking the Soul Stone at some point. After all, he is important to the storyline these movies are recreating.

Also cut from the theatric release, apparently Nathan Fillion had more than just a photoshoot for the movie portraying Simon Williams in all those movie posters. Fillion posted a picture on his Instagram, stating it's "From a scene you won't see in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2." Looks like it'd be Wonderman as Arkon the Imperion. Here are the movie posters and marquee again if you forgot, which will possibly still show up.

Some Guardians of the Galaxy spoilers, now that the movie has screened and spoilers are leaking online intentionally and unintentionally. I'm going to go ahead and say "Called it," and multispoiler it so anyone wanting to remain surprised can still do so. Near the end of the movie Ving Rhames and Michelle Yeoh appear, and the credits confirm they're Charlie-27 and Aleta Ogard, Stallone's Stakar's wife (and second Starhawk) respectively. They're both "original" Guardians of the Galaxy, from the 31st century.

One of the songs from the soundtrack, Guardians Inferno by The Sneepers featuring The Hoff. I have no words for it.

David Dastmalchian confirmed that he'll return as the Russian Hacker Kurt in Ant-Man & The Wasp. Considering Michael Pena confirmed a while ago that he'd be returning as Juan Punch Man Luis that only leaves TI to confirm his return to the Three Wombats. And their return all but confirms the next movie will also involve a heist in some way.

Looks like last year's revival of X-Files was successful enough for Fox to revive it again, as production on the next chapter in the event series will begin this summer, and the series is slated to air during the 2017-18 season.

Watched the Judas Contract movie, and the main thing I walked away with from that was... I did not realize that the whole "Tamaraneans can learn languages by kissing" was a real thing and not just an ongoing Robin/Starfire joke in Teen Titans Go!. And my only exposure to the story previously had been in the Non-GO! version of Teen Titans, so the whole sex thing between Terra and Deathstroke was unexpected and only slightly creepy..

On the disc is some behind the scenes stuff for a couple of DC's next films. Including Batman & Harley Quinn. And they have Melissa Rauch on it. She sounds okay, accent seemed fine to me. The whole thing looks very comedic.

And for some reason they had a "Sneak Peak" of Flashpoint Paradox... but I'm pretty sure I watched that on Netflix a while ago. Must be a re-release on Blu-ray that's coming up.

Samurai Jack: Ashi and her sisters' skin tight black outfits appear to have been just their skin covered in soot/darkness. I still think there's more than a Daughter/Sister relationship in the making here. He was a little flirty with her after saving her from the Samurai-Spirit and seeing her not in her black outfit. Though I think I recall reading something from Genndy saying that this would wrap up Jack's story and it would be sad... so I don't really expect much if anything to happen between them in that sense.

Scaramouch is back, kind of. And I've come around a bit to the light hearts parts. Scara saying the guy looks like a penis. Ashi joining in dancing at the "Lady Gaga"esque (at least, that's what it reminded me of) samurai celebration concert.

A handful of cameos, but all (or, most of the main ones) from the first few episodes of the first season shown on Adult Swim prior to the new season release. Almost like it was planned to only show that much. Popeye and what I think was Astro as well.

Is it just me, or does Ashi's animation style make her look like a monkey at times? Jaw and lips extended very far out under her nose, head sloped back.

That's going to make rewatching the episode where Jack is carrying her around a little awkward. And consider all those high kicks. I'm usually not a fan of clip shows, but seeing the psychic elephants, the uncursed Archers, SA-MOO-RAI and especially the ravers was nice. The Astro and Boteye the Sailor Robot cameos were a bit weird. Scaramouche Davis Jr stole every scene he was in though, doo be doo babe. Smiley: laugh
TirithRR wrote:

Yeah, but I chalk it up to Genndy having a weird anthro streak. His Luke Cage comic was choke full of angular furries.

Last night's episode of Dragon Ball Super had me rolling. I've been watching it subbed, but they added the "I forgot my tractor" to the dub and I wasn't prepared for it so it knocked me out.

Gotham is back, and if the promotional video that's been showing up in all my cellphone games is any indication then it looks like they're going to focus on Bruce's story of becoming Batman. I hope not, the show's strength is in it's villains. All but Legends of Tomorrow seems to be returning this week to CW's lineup, but on the Supergirl front, Marc Gibbon has been cast as General Zod for the second season finale. I'm guessing, like Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo Marc'll be a cameo setting up the third season.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned, but "X-Men: Supernova" has officially been revealed to be titled "X-Men: Dark Phoenix." Which, you know, supernova; being made of fire eating a planet. I can't imagine it'll be worse than X3, but the trouble is in that that is a pretty long storyline to condense into two and a half hour movie. I guess the real question is if it's going to be part of the prequel timeline or current timeline, and if so will it be set in the early 90s? The "Quicksilver Scene" (Come on, we're 2/2 on that. No reason to not believe another Time Stopped With Music Scene won't happen again) set to Nirvana's "Lithium" would be amusing. While on it, Fox confirmed some dates for their movies: New Mutants will lead the charge into 2018 on April 13th, followed by Deadpool 2 on June 1st, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix on November 2nd.

Mike Colter confirmed that season 2 of Luke Cage will start filming this June and should wrap up by March '18.

How can someone like Supergirl with super senses not smell the moment something in the oven starts to burn and remove it? Nygma losing it in Gotham was amusing, and I'm not wondering if shooting and dumping Oswald in a river is going to be the show's running gag.

According to Kevin Feige Thanos' motives "will be similar to what they were in the Infinity Gauntlet in various ways," which to me means he's trying to score a booty call with Death.

Warner Brothers gave a press release about their very own DC-exclusive direct-to-consumer digital service, which will launch in 2018 with two original series: the live-action superhero drama series Titans and the long-awaited third season of Young Justice.
Press Release + Show Synopsis wrote:
“Titans” follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. “Titans” is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.

In “Young Justice: Outsiders,” the teenage Super Heroes of the DC Universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, Super-Villains and super secrets. In the highly anticipated new season, the team faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy. Equally praised by critics and viewers for its impressive visuals and rich storytelling, “Young Justice” reached more than 25 million unique viewers in each of its two seasons on Cartoon Network. This passionate fan support set the stage for the new third season.
Star Wars: Episode IX now has a confirmed release date of May 24, 2019, and both Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg will return for the next Indiana Jones film, which has been dated for July 10, 2020.

Sorry Tirith, but it looks like NBC has pulled the plug on Powerless. According to executive producer Patrick Schumacker the show won't air for the next two weeks, and will be replaced by Superstore. So, you know, not even by something better. No other details at the moment, but during the last round of renewal announcements Powerless wasn't mentioned. I was personally holding out until the Adam West episode, but if that doesn't show up then I'll be disappointed. If it is axed, it'll join Constantine and a Wonder Woman pilot that never got off the ground.

Timon and Pumba will be voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen in the live action Lion King ... which, sure, okay. They were pretty much potheads in the cartoon anyway.

Nygma was good.

You'd think Ovaries would give Kara super cooking abilities. But maybe Kryptonian Ovaries are just not as good as Earth Ovaries.

Better Call Saul is on it's third episode on AMC. And Mike is still my favorite character.

Into the Badlands is... I don't really know how to feel yet. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes I get bored. Stephen Lang seems under utilized.

I did catch the Attack on Titans premiere on Adult Swim. Probably gonna just let it record a few weeks and watch them all at once cause I hate how short the episodes feel.

So I take it that the Teen Titans TV show is going to just release directly on Netflix or something?

Of course that happens when it's his first episode directing. Smiley: laugh I'm going to go ahead and just guess that Savitar is the Barry Allen that got screwed by Flashpoint, or the Harry Potter guy whose name I'm completely blanking on at the moment.

Marvel Studios has reshuffled their 2020 releases by moving UNTITLED MARVEL MOVIE from July 10th, 2020 to August 8th, 2020. Most likely due to yesterday's announcement of Indiana Jones and the Fifth Movie.

The Jurassic World sequel just, ah, found a way to become so much better than it's predecessor by bringing back Jeff Goldblum.

I've really made it no secret that I don't think much of M Night Shyamalangleyfalls, but he did just announce on Twitter that he's finally making a sequel to Unbreakable in 2019 called "Glass." He also revealed that both Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson will return, as well as James McAvoy who is also technically part of the franchise with Split. Unbreakable was like, one of three good Night I actually liked, but that may be due to it being so comic book related so I am cautiously optimistic for this.

Flash: Mallfoy was already Alchemy, being controlled by Savitar, right? And I'm not sure if I'm on board with it being any version of Barry. That'd be like it being a future version of Iris or something.

It has to be someone they know well enough that Frost would just accept without question, and the promos make it sound like the person is someone close to the group. Some people are guessing it's Eddie.

Finding a home in the lineup is Sony's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe on December 18th, 2019. And the Miles Morales animated Spider-Man flick seems to have moved up a week, now showing December 14th, 2018. Also, Amazon is set to release their The Tick series on August 15th.

Marc Gibbon as General Zod for an upcoming Supergirl episode. I don't know, something about it doesn't look like Zod to me. If I didn't know who he was supposed to be I'd have guessed he was a younger Governor Tarkin for a Star Trek prequel.

I could see Eddie, maybe. But was Frost/Snow ever really close to him? Close enough to react that way instantly. I was thinking yesterday what about Ronnie. At this point Frost may still be Snow enough that if Ronnie were to show up she would unquestioningly go to him.

Edit: And what better way to be forced into the Speed Force than, after already being charged, absorbing a nuclear blast.

I've seen his name pop up in several places, and it just sounds like a massive stretch to me. He's really had nothing to do with any of the story*. He wasn't affected by Flashpoint, his powers aren't anything Speedforce related (Not that that means anything. Don't gotta explain **** and all), and as far as I remember he was only signed up to show up during the musical episode (Again, doesn't really mean anything.) At least with Eddie we know he got absorbed into the singularity at the end of season 1, * (I rewatched the first episode of Season 2 and Ronnie explodes the singularity so I guess he could have maybe possibly been absorbed as well) Malfoy still has his connection to Savitor so maybe it's more a split personality, and Barry is ... well, Barry.

Apparently Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 confirms a long standing fan theory (including my own). I'll triple spoiler it in case you'd like to be surprised According to Kevin Feige , and a scene in the movie,Stan Lee is Uatu, the Watcher. That's how he can be in so many of the movies as different characters, at different time lines, and even across different companies like Sony, Fox, and Marvel Studios. Gotta hand it to them, giving an Easter Egg a character arc is definitely something new, and pretty good way to honor the best salesman in the world.

Caught up on Arrow: Good news, Felicity is paralyzed again... Or at least for a few moments until they fix her nanobot circuit board thingy that lets her walk. It got dull for a while there, but I think I'm actually liking this Prometheus/Adrian thing.

Samurai Jack: I think the shortness of this season and wrap up of the story is kind of hurting it. Ashi vs Army of Lizard people was fun. The fight with her Mom was fine. But it all moves so fast, and progresses so quickly. Mom brings up the big question, "He killed your sisters" and it's just kind of ignored.

I can't put too much thought into the speed though. It's inevitable given the circumstances, and focusing on it will just risk ruining it for me.

But, I wish they hadn't Magicked Jack back into his old self. I feel they should have Magicked the sword back into his possession, and the sword just given him a confidence / meaning to clean himself up.

Just a bit more flirting between Jack and Ashi near the end. And the description of next week's episode hints a bit more toward that.

American Gods: Good Start. An old goddess absorbs a man thru her vagina. Wednesday recruits the main character with some assistance from Leprechaun. And what appears to be one of the "New" Gods makes an appearance. And he appears to be modelled after a Technology loving Millennial.

A fun little story of the real Viking's first arrival in North America.

I'm interested. Will stick around for more.

Rest in RIP in peace Jack's manly beard.

I enjoyed Ashi going medieval on those cannon fodders, but the fight with her mother got a bit awkward when we now know she's also fighting naked. But yeah, the short series's speed makes the pacing feel off when we're accustomed to shows running for multiple seasons. Avatar's Zuko took like three seasons before he got to where Ashi is now.

I've been talking this show up and I ended up forgetting to set my DVR. I feel like an idiot.

There was a rumor last weekend over how Robert Zemeckis, director of fine films like Back to the Future, was in line to direct the WB's The Flash movie. Turns out he's not, so the movie still has noone at the helm.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 is this weekend. I've got my ticket. Smiley: thumbsup

Set up American Gods. Thankfully most shows on the premium channels repeat each episode a million times so had no trouble watching the first episode. Mr Wednesday was amusing start to finish, but I'm wondering if we're supposed to be surprised by which God he is or not. Which, the show's fight scenes are brutal. Felt pretty bad for Moon Shadow. When it rains it pours, right? Only the first episode, but compelling and interesting enough to stick with.

In Gotham, it's a bit weird how Adult Ivy acts more like a kid than Kid Ivy did. Not that it's a negative, really liked her this episode. Her and Penguin's B Plot was more interesting than Gordon's and Bruce's A Plot with the Owls. There was a Wonder Woman trailer, which was pretty good for a trailer. I mean, if I didn't already have reservations about the movie I'd certainly be excited for it.
Lucifer is back, too. Looks like he's back to his sneaky plots. Should be interesting. Still need to watch Supergirl. Spring. Way too many shows.

Tomorrow The Dark Tower trailer should be showing up.

The Defenders teaser, featuring the Zelda-esque pot that they put Elektra in at the end of Daredevil S02., as well as a number of other Defenders related teasers.

I think they really want you to guess which God, Wednesday is. The name, though I'm not sure how many people would know the connection without having looked it up. The vikings stabbing all stabbing one of their eyes out as tribute to him so that he will notice them in this land far away from home. Then Wednesday making reference to his bad eye. I mean, I'm sure we all here realize who he is just from descriptions of the series previously looked up, or knowledge of the source material in some cases. But I think they want you to find out before they come out and say it based on what is shown in the show alone.

I think my favorite character from the first episode was the Leprechaun. An interesting take on the creature. I suspected he was some sort of body guard for Wednesday. And I'm a little fuzzy on the details right now, since I'm at work and can't watch the show again to see, but I really wanted the Leprechaun to show up at the end there and be the one that saves Shadow from the Technology-God's Henchmen and lynching. But now I can't even remember if they showed who it was that saved him and sliced up all the Henchmen.

Didn't get around to watching the shows last night, but chose to watch most of Better Call Saul before work in the morning. Supergirl played in the background while I was playing some video games (didn't bother turning off channel as my box was recording multiple shows). From what I gleamed from the episode it was a pretty dull one. Storyline-wise.

I hope that Dark Tower trailer shows some promise. But, I still am not very optimistic for the movie.

They didn't show anyone coming to the rescue, just the faceless Anons exploding into gore and then the credit roll. I don't think it was Leprechaun, he seems more the beat people to death with his fists type and not tear / slash them to death. Seems like a cliffhanger where you'd introduce a new character the next episode.

While the trailer is tomorrow, Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba both released a couple of teasers. I'm not familiar with the source so I couldn't tell anything but it's not really that much anyway, though Idris reloading his revolvers is pretty hot. Just ignore the second half of the videos.

I've not read all the books. And I guess one could nitpick and say I haven't read any of the books. I used Amazon's free Audible promotions they give out periodically to collect the first four books on Audio Book. It gave me something to listen to while making the 8-9 hour drive I do every few months between plants.

Idris does look pretty bad *** as Roland there. I just think there are plenty of very interesting scenes in the books that just either can't or won't be played out on film. And that's only in the first four books that I'm familiar with.

I had been waiting on another "Free 2 Audio Books" from Amazon to get a couple more of the books. I have four, nine hour car drives coming up in the next month.

Edit:

Flash: It was Barry afterall. I wanted it to be someone else.

Caitlin summoned her inner Frozone. While not spectacular CG, it was probably some of the most I've seen on a CW show.

SHIELD: Evil Fitz was kind of cool. Now we'll get Emo Fitz.

I imagine that Mack won't stay in the Framework forever.

And all that naked Aida and not even a little side boob. Though, I think it was the same when she was actually an assistant for Dr. Not-So-Evil.

For what it's worth I've listened to a couple of books while reading comics. Not a conscious decision, I set my mp3 player to random, they start playing and I don't stop them. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies and Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way were the latest to rotate in.

First Defenders trailer. I want the Luke and Danny fight, though I could do without yet another Hallway Fightâ„¢. I love how the scene of Danny punching Luke and his face distorting is almost exactly the same as the scene from Luke's series where the guy punches him and breaks his fist. That's pure pottery.

And the Dark Tower trailer. Consider my intrigued.

Josh Gad just tweeted a picture of The Penguin, and now a floodgate of speculation is crushing the various sites I follow. Just on the surface there's a Batman movie and two TV series in the works that he could be hinting he's cast in. He could be campaigning for the role, which is something actors do now. Or he could be dicking around.

Hulu has officially ordered Marvel's The Runaways to series, and released a cast photo. Gert looks better than I had anticipated, though Molly looks exactly as anticipated. And the fact she's not wearing a hat of some sort absolutely infuriates me. Like Superman without the red undies angry. No surprise at the lack of Old Lace, though she better show up if they know what's good for them. There's a leaked trailer, though no guarantee how long it'll survive. Molly is wearing a hat in it. Though the fact remains that Molly never removes the hat. Never. Still rage.

Though I do concede that the trailer looks remarkably like it's following the comics, at least the first origin arc. Which is good.

That Dark Tower trailer looks nice. But I see they may have solved any issues with Roland's race by just removing the characters all together. Which also removes a handful of the scenes that would be questionable as far as being able to show on screen. Maybe future trailers will show me wrong and they'll pop up. But the scene order in the trailer doesn't make me think that will be the case.

I'm glad to see Jake. And a handful of things are there. It's hard to tell by just a short trailer but definitely looks like it may be a new story based on the books. Not quite as bad as say... Shannara Chronicles treatment. But along those lines.

Having absolutely no knowledge at all about The Dark Tower, I'll say that the trailer looked decent enough. Though, the story didn't seem particularly original. Pretty standard fantasy fair by the looks of it. I might give it a watch, I haven't decided. The Defenders trailer was more or less what I expected. At first they all don't get along, but eventually learn to trust each other and fight together for the greater good. Also, not terribly inspired, but I'll probably watch it. I need to get around to watching Luke Cage and Iron Fist before August comes around though.

I haven't seen the first episode of American Gods, so I can't say much about it. I found out that the the entire first season will only get to about a third of the way though the book. Considering the book is only about 400 or so pages, there is going to a lot of filler in there. I might hold out until the end of the season and binge this one.

With the removal of the characters, I think the best stories of the four books I have read will be skipped. The second book will have to be skipped all together. And it seems they are skipping most everything with the character development in book one. Skipping right on to near the middle of book three, but I don't imagine they'll do the end of book three (Though, I really enjoyed that part, and it's possible they can still do it, but without more characters I can't imagine it going over as well).

I can't really talk about it cause of spoilers. Even though I'm sure most of what I'd say isn't going to be in the movie, some might, so it's best not the say.

The books are not all that unique. But the combination of the themes and character development is what makes it fun (for me, at least). And with the elimination of the characters and focusing on this one theme, a story based on it, I don't think it will carry the same appeal. It's goal instead to be a simple fantasy story based on those two characters.

Sounds like movie theaters may have received two other Dark Tower trailers to show starting this week. I expect to see one during GotG 2, as the theme of the movie would fit well. More so now that aspects of those two other characters may not be involved.. Not sure if they'll show new footage or if it will just be remixes of the existing trailer.

I'm going to see Guardians Friday. My last vacation day before traveling for 6 weeks. Though I do usually try to spend a Saturday or Sunday night checking out new movies in the cities I travel to. Just cause it beats being stuck in a hotel all night.
