I know it's from 2011, but getting a March 2013 US release. Looks cute, because of course it does. It's a Ghibli movie, and they only aren't cute when you think about them too much.Don't click that link, by the way.
An interesting cast, including Gillian Anderson and Jeff Dunham, to name a few.
I watched a little bit of it, since Doki fansubbed it a while ago. Not enough to really get any grasp of what it was about or anything, like ten minutes worth. From it I got that it was well animated and the music was a notch above pretty much everything, so I'll probably queue it up one weekend I have a minute and watch it fully. I distinctly remember the opening song was catchy.
But Jeff Dunham? Really? That's interesting. Not sure how to feel about that.

I watched it a while ago, subbed. I didn't care for it, though the incest theme was a tad, uh, unique. Well, maybe not unique for Japan
Miyazaki tends to have two styles of movie: magical fiction and then everyday life. I really enjoy the former, and this movie was totally in the latter. Yes, great animation and graphics and whatnot, but the story turned me off.
Edit: Actually, I don't always the former either; Ponyo was not a favorite of mine. But ones like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and My Neighbor Totoro are some of my favorites. Yes, even with Poldaran's Totoro link
So I watched it last night. I liked it, though not enough to rewatch it. I mostly did so I could figure out the whole Jeff Dunham thing, and I'm at a loss. I looked it up on IMDB, and his role has like two lines and ... I dunno. Did his Comedy Central show bomb so badly that he has to take any table scrap thrown at him?

Have you actually read the theory behind that image? Puts the movie in a creepy new perspective.
Edit: Also, how bad are we talking with the incest? If it's first cousins, I tend to ignore it since it's really common in anime. If it's any closer, it'll probably creep me out.
I just saw The Secret World of Arriety last weekend. It was as pretty to watch as most of the Ghibli stuff. I'd never like the original story The Borrowers. My young mind couldn't justify the stealing. This version was a bit more palatable. The old lady that was trying to catch the little people was voiced by Carol Burnett!
I'll get around to see this movie as well eventually. They're such a mindless treat for the senses.

GoT - three threads down. Sis on Bro action (they're a handsome couple).
