Exactly what the title says. Basically, I usually use the pre-season preview threads made to see what's coming out that sounds like something I should watch. But it hasn't happened yet, so I'm trying to force it. Because it would be tantamount to me just posting a vid and saying "Discuss" without adding something of my own, here's one I'm excited about:

A second season is scheduled to air in April 2012 officially named: Kore wa Zombie rate me down ka? Of The Dead ( Is This A Zombie?: Of the Dead).
And here's a list of anime coming out soon, courtesy of TVTropes. Which, I know, compiles a list and invalidates my need for you all to do so, but I value some of your opinions.

Eureka Seven AO Jormungand Kore wa Zombie rate me down ka? Of The Dead (as soon as I watch the first season) Lupin III : Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna (I really hope Lupin is actually in this show for more than just a few cameos) Queen's Blade: Rebellion (for the jiggly of course) Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth (manga is funny/awesome and 100% less filler than the main series) Sankarea (sounds oddly interesting) Zetman (same as above)
Also wtf:

Mikoto Urabe, an unusual girl with some awesome scissors, and Akira Tsubaki, have a special connection. They have the ability to share their emotions and physical conditions through saliva. Tsubaki is addicted to this, and must taste it everyday to avoid going into withdrawal. And that's just the start of the weirdness.

Really only looking forward to Fate/zero and Kore wa Zombie rate me down ka. I don't really like sequels like how it looks like they are doing with Eureka 7 so I may or may not watch it but if I do It will be after it gets a few out. Dusk maiden of amnesia might be interesting but not holding my breath. If all else fails I still have the rest of Moretsu Pirates to look forward to.
I'll try and watch Zetman, since I enjoyed the manga. What I really want to see is the new Berserk movies, but haven't found the first one online...yet.

Mysterious Girlfriend X is a pretty entertaining manga. I, for one, can't wait for the anime.
Crunchyroll's getting it.

Watch a couple of the of the new season so far the ones I was looking forward to turned out as what I was expecting. Check out Sankarea and was surprised how much I enjoyed the first ep so looking forward to seeing more hope it has staying power. Also watched Medaka box, over the top fun after the first one I going to give it a go as well. Finally to what I'm sure lolgaxe dreams are like just with fewer ponies running around. Upotte girls with guns that are guns I don't care how stupid it turns out I will keep watching it.
definitely excited for more fate/zero and kore wa zombie rate me down ka?, but Zetman looks promising aside from the speedbump in episode two where they're trying to pass off jin and kouga as being middleschoolers, but I stopped believing that anime/manga story writers have any idea how @#%^ing weird it is for someone that looks 17 and acts 17 to supposedly be 12. and so does Sankarea. I wanna see a few more episodes of Accel world before I make up my mind about it. I don't know whether I'm actually going to enjoy it, but I will also be watching tasogare otome x amnesia, because the first episode was really amusing.

Of ALL the shows, how the hell do you get C? I loved C, and I can see some similarities, but there's not much in common aside from generic anime plot points that both shows share with about a hundred other animes/mangas.
On another note; am I the only one who's @#%^ing happy that Moretsu Pirates didn't get cut at as a 12-13 episode run? I like the show more with each episode (also that intro.... omg that intro.... )

It was probably just the most recent show that I saw with a similar plot. I thought the point system allowing Haru to accelerate and the addiction that came with it sounded similar to C and it's use of money.

So I'm not the only one that's still watching it. I thought the show worked since it never takes itself seriously. I really liked both opening and ending, I just wished the full versions were better.
Jormungand is out and I expect it'll probably be one of my favorites this season. I've read the manga, but the last Mirai Nikki episode reminded me how awesome Murmur really is.
Final line up of what I'll probably watch, in no particular order: Jormungand Zetman Hairyore! Naruko-san Kuroko's Basketball Fate/Zero Nazo no Kanojo X Space Brothers Acell World Sankarea Tasogare Otome x Amnesia Kore Wa Zombie rate me down ka? OF THE DEAD Medaka Box

Yeah I seen a while back that Moretsu was going to be 26 just happy there is no break. It is light hearted and still enjoyable to watch, brings a bit of balance to the darker shows I watch. I also watch watch Dusk maiden of amnesia, looks like it has promise and might pull off the twist and turns. It been awhile since I seen a really good dark comedy. .

Or at least a dark comedy that knows it's a dark comedy. There's nothing quite like that uncomfortable feeling of a dark, dark story suddenly trying to be funny.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san! was fairly decent. Funny, though I think prolonged exposure to her "hummingbird on speed" type personality would drive me nuts. Good in small doses. Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals...well, let's just say I'm not gonna be watching another episode of that.
Anyone know of somewhere to watch season 2 of Zombie legally? I haven't seen anything about the second season coming to Crunchyroll and it doesn't appear to be on Funimation either.

They may not have started showing it yet, then. Or maybe I missed finding it because of this slow ass work comp leading me to half assing the search. Though there is apparently talk of getting them possibly putting out a Roku app, which will be cool if it happens.

Animation is decent, but there's quite a few changes right out of the gate. In the one hand, it'll up the pace a bit (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). In the other, the introduction of one villain(Readers of the manga will know which villain I'm referring too) whom doesn't make their appearance in the manga until much later is going to effect the narrative quite a bit.
The other big change, with Kouga meeting Jin earlier, could make their relationship more interesting.

Yea, I was really unimpressed with the anime version of the Rock Lee spinoff. The manga is @#%^ing hysterical, but the anime just... doesn't pull it off. As for the other one, I can't decide whether I actually want to bother watching that one, because it looks like another haruhi rehash, and I try to limit myself to one-two of those at a given time, and right now, Medaka Box seems a LOT more interesting to me.

How is the manga? The series looks interesting, but I've already got like 4 others I'm reading, so I'm wondering if it's worth looking into.

I think Zetman is interesting because of the ways it plays with reconstructing/deconstructing the superhero tropes. But then there is some stupidity, like the gum. That's bullsh*t. You'll know it when you see it.
I think it's an above average manga for what I've read.
Just checked that TVTropes link. Who the hell wants to watch a Rock Lee spinoff? I was actually ANGRY when Gaara didn't kill him during the Chuunin exam.

The manga is actually good even though it's more omake than actual story.

Like Allegory said, it's generally a deconstruction of traditional superheroes. It also goes to some really dark places (Think Gantz and/or Battle Royale) & throws you some curve balls, although I feel like a lot is missed in the fan translations (especially when explaining some "conspiracy" elements.). The art is good & the story is unique, though. My biggest gripe is it's not finished, and you can expect about 18 pages every month or two. However, the ride between the beginning and the current issues is pretty good.
Kouga's, who's kind of a Batman/Iron Man type hybrid, hero training is pretty much the most disturbing "hero" origin story I've ever read that wasn't written by Garth Ennis.

Saw 2nd episode of Zetman. Looks like it's going to tell the general story in Zet, in PG 13 format. However, with the way they've flew through material in just two episodes it leads me to believe we can expect only one season and a filler ending.
Yay?

Oh yeah Jinte, Tenten's specialty is weapons not summoning. Each member of Gai's team specializes in a form of physical combat: Lee is hand to hand, Tenten is weapons, and Negi's is death pokes (accupressure), None of them us ninjutsu or genjutsu as their main style.

Outside Tsunade, and just barely for her, all females in the Narutoverse are worthless.
You forgot to exclude Sasori's grandmother, Chiyo.
Well, Sakura did have her moment of usefulness when she saved Kankurou. So as long as we are limiting it to medical ability and not detracting points for being f*cking annoying.

Most. Worthless. Team.
Do you remember when they had to fight versions of themselves during the Gaara Rescue arc, and Tenten just shot weapons at herself for hours?
And I hope Gai is dead by this point. Seriously, they kill Asuma (who was awesome) but let Gai live? SCREW YOU KISHIMOTO.

Sakura/Chiyo vs Sasori is still one of my favorite fights.
It's really annoying though how Sakura has actual combat ability now, and yet after that fight she has done absolutely nothing.
But yeah, other than Tsunade/Chiyo/Sometimes Sakura, Kishimoto really has a thing for making the women glorified cheerleaders. Hell, even Konan got her moment of awesome and almost took down the big bad of the series, except lolnope asspull plot armor.

Gonna second the Sasori vs Chiyo/Sakura fight as one of my favorites as well. Chiyo definitely cemented her place as a series badass. As for tenten, I guess I'm remembering the lolfiller where they gave her some backstory about wanting to be a great kunoichi like tsunade, in which they discovered that her specialty was summoning, which is what she uses to pull those weapons from hammerspace the scrolls and such. Also, Tenten and Neji are both capable of using ninjutsu, since that's what tenten uses to pull out her infinite weapons, and neji's just hax, they just don't for plotreasons no understandable reason. Gai can, too, for the record, unless summoning no longer counts as ninjutsu like it does for every other character.

Are you including Yoruichi/Soi Fon in that? Yoruichi has proven herself pretty badass when she wants to be, ignoring when she teamed up with urahara and isshin to fight marysuezen. And Soi Fon.... well, Jakuho Raikoben. But then again, that whole arc managed to make @#%^ing Omaeda look badass for a little bit, so I guess that isn't saying much.

I thought Ninjutsu was basically anything that involved semi-complicated chakra manipulation (ie: more complicated than whatever it takes to walk on water, since lee can do that), that wasn't blatantly genjutsu. Also, the fact that she should be able to summon live beings given that back story theypulled out of their ass is why I think they're wasting her potential, lol.

Lee's ability to stand on water is really just plot no jutsu. His story as that he wasn't able to manipulate Chakra at all, and standing on water was supposed to be an advanced chakra manipulation technique.
IIRC, there were 4 ninja techniques. The inherited biological ones like the Sharingan, Genjutsu (illusions and mind control), Ninjutsu (transforming chakra) and then taijutsu, hand to hand techniques.
I don't remember how they distinguished between Nin/Genjutsu in the manga. I feel like it was a more artificial difference than the others. But summoning was definitely ninjutsu.
As for that team, Neji and Tenten could both use Ninjutsu (tenten used it to summon, and I can't imagine a prodigy like Neji couldn't). He also had his PlotNoJutsu eyes.
Lee was the only one who could only use taijutsu. Tenten could potentially have used 3 of the types, and Neji could have used 4.
I don't remember how they distinguished between Nin/Genjutsu in the manga.
If I remember correctly, and this is going back to probably the first books, but the distinction isn't between Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, but between Taijutsu (Body Techniques) and Genjutsu (Illusionary Techniques), with Ninjutsu being the all encompassing label for both.
For the sake of completeness, there are also Kekkei Genkai (Bloodline Limits), Fuuinjutsu (Sealing Techniques), and Senjutsu (Sage Techniques) as well.

Ninjutsu (ninja techniques) involve anything that allows you to do anything you normally wouldn't be capable of.
It is distinct from genjutsu because the effects of ninjutsu are real.
Use of weapons falls under the realm of Ninjutsu (I guess because a sword would, for example, let you cut something your hand wouldn't be sufficient for). But use of the body is taijutsu, which depends on physical stamina, conditioning, and mental focus.
They also apparently can be combined with ninjutsu to form nintaijutsu (what nonsense is this?)
So I was wrong--Ninjutsu isn't anything involving chakra, but anything involving a tangible alteration to the environment. Wiki says that most involve chakra, hand seals, and often elements, but not all.
But it seems to me that Lee still shouldn't be able to walk on water. There's no reason he should be able to do that, but can't use any other chakra-related gen or ninjutsu.

The way I understand it;
Taijutsu: Hand to Hand combat techniques, as well as arguably weapon techniques (I think labeling weapon techniques as ninjutsu is debated a bit, but I don't actually read something silly like a naruto forum, so I'm just going with my own opinion here); Includes the obvious martial arts techniques (punches, kicks, etc), submission techniques (ie: grappling), etc
Genjutsu: Illusions. Pretty straightforward and self explanatory. Also includes the "technique" for releasing/escaping genjutsu, which was basically just being able to stop your chakra flow for a second, or something. It's been a while since I read the chapter where naruto had to basically sh*t himself to pull it off because of his poor chakra control.
Ninjutsu: All of the other crazy sh*t that isn't blatantly taijutsu or genjutsu. Includes stuff like elemental techniques, summoning techniques, weapon enhancements (ex: shadow shuriken jutsu, or sasuke's take on kakashi's raikiri, that uses an actual sword rather than just making one with electricity), body alterations (the stuff choji does), the various types of clone jutsus (So far I think we've seen.... regular clones, shadow clones, sand clones, water clones, wood clones, rock clones, lightning clones, insect clones, ink clones, clay clones, and other various filler clones, and any one I forgot. No Fire Clones or Air Clones yet, though.), and a long lost of other miscellaneous sh*t I don't feel like typing out.
Kekkei Genkai can fall into any of the three categories. Haku's ice release techniques would be ninjutsu, kimimaro's bone stuff is really mostly taijutsu, and obviously the famous sharingan genjutsu sh*t. The whole "nintaijutsu" thing would probably be something that combines crazy sh*t with hand to hand combat, ie; the hyuuga's gentle fist technique. Their byakugan doesn't itself cause the gentle fist technique, it just makes it practical and easy to use (Since they can actually see the pressurechakra points.), a non kekkei genkai example would be something like Choji's fighting style, using his expansion techniques. The techniques don't do anything but change his body size/shape, so they really just supplement his taijutsu. There's also the Kekkei Genkai subset, Doujutsu (eye techniques) that includes sh*t like the sharingan, byakugan, and rinnegan (and that weird ass filler one from the first series).
Additionally, there's medical jutsu, which is apparently separate from ninjutsu, as well as fuuinjutsu (Sealing techniques) that the Uzumaki clan was famous for (the obvious example being the kyuubii's seal, and Senjutsu (Sage techniques) which are supposedly separate from the entire rest of this mess because they don't use chakra, they use a different colored chakranotchakrachakra2 natural energy.
Finally, you get the plotjutsu/utilityjutsu that pretty much every ninja can do from before they graduate the academy, or learn how to do fairly fast as genin, like walking on water, or the body flicker/flashstep/totallynotteleporting technique.
....I can't believe I did all that sh*t from memory.... I'm.... very sad right now....

Am I the only one who clicked on this thread expecting actual baby photos [of Jinte]? o.O
Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!
So, in the last two days we've been watching all the first episodes we could find time for, and now I'm ready to comment on them.
Hiiro No Kakera - The pacing seemed a bit off, and the show seems a bit weird. But another episode may tell whether we actually like it or not. Medaka Box - Seems a bit standard, if crazy, but it was an enjoyable watch. Nazo no Kanojo X - I quite like this one, even if it's rather weird. Ozuma - From the art to the events thus far, everything about this anime screams "Old School!". Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Saki Achiga-hen - Speaking of pacing that drove me nuts, I'm not so sure I like this one. We're planning to give it one more episode to see if it gets better. Tsuritama - In a season chock full of crazy, this one fits right in. Uchuu Kyoudai - I have high hopes for this one.

Wow, you've got an awesome writing style.! I really dig the narrator'sback story, humor, sarcasm, and the plethora of pop culture references. Altogether a refreshingly different RotR journal (not that I don't like the more traditional ones, mind you).

I liked the original show once I kind of figured out Mahjong, but I couldn't even get through the first episode of this new show.

Yeah, I'm not holding out much hope that we'll enjoy it more after a second episode.
