Don't have super long so, just the basics, I'll go into more detail after I get back; Steampunk world, intro has 4 girls sneaking to a concert, generic idol-group concert, alternates between anime and fauxnime CG for 3D ****, Anti-entertainment police show up, idols kick their asses while singing their last song.
4 year time skip
3 of the four girls are shown, the blue haired one is mysteriously missing. Redhair seems to be the main protagonist/storyteller, and is also the daughter of one of the head entertainment police people. Apparently the ban has been loosened in the 4 years, but not totally lifted. 3 girls get sent a chance to audition for the group, they make it to the next round, ensue drama of whether they can actually go.

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would... but I wanna see another episode or two before I decide for sure.

Also; ay kay bee zero zero fourtyeight. It has all sorts of terribad flow.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

No, it's more "It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and is actually fairly tolerable, maybe even amusing" given my own tastes. I wanna see another episode or two, because I want to know how much they're going to play up the ridiculosity of the premise.

edit: annoying realization; I've managed to pull off having a no-show day again Smiley: motz

By which I mean that In the line up of shows I'm following this season, I've got nothing new/interesting to watch on Tuesdays, unless I leave something from monday, which isn't necessarily hard given that I've also got an all-time high for the number of new shows I'm watching that come out on roughly the same day (7) Smiley: lol, but whenever I don't do that, I'm basically just left with occasionally toriko, since the day toriko comes out subbed in a given week is entirely ******* random and can be anywhere from monday to thursday, despite the fact that it airs on sunday alongside one piece Smiley: bah

Argh, I need to find something to fill this void..

So I just watched episode 2 of AKB0048. I've decided to add it to my list, because wow, not at all what I was expecting. Aside from the expected power of friendship/"singing gives me super powers" stuff, which was expected, one of the apparent main characters is a quiet, super-blunt snarkface who I instantly fell in love with, and also it doesn't take place on earth, but rather, in space. Episode two contains, among other thigns, spaceships, lasers (the pew pew kind AND the rocking lightshow kind), explosions, space dogfighting, mechs, and Masterchief-esque armor wearing anti-entertainment space soldiers,

So in other words, this series looks like it will consist of Halo players as the fun police, getting their asses kicked by tweenage/teenage girls who get superpowers when they sing, have flying surfboards that turn into mini-fighter jets, and some of whom are built like this:
Screenshot

yes, that is built in to her arm. It pops out when she wants to make boom.

I'm thinking it'll be a pretty good show.

Can't really agree with AKB being a good show- but I do enjoy the OP.

So, I haven't actually watched anything this season yet. I plan on catching up on Kore wa Zombie and Nazo no Kanojo X... but are there any other ones people would recommend based on being about halfway through the season now? :D

Space Brothers(Uchuu something or other) has been my favorite thus far this season(disclaimer:haven't watched any Zombie yet). Accel World has been pretty good so far as well.

Nifty news of interest to anyone watching their anime via Hulu(hopefully it'll apply to Hulu Plus as well). Sankarea to stream on Funimation, with episodes going to Hulu a week later.

I liking AKB little more then I really should maybe cause of how little I was expecting out of it. Only thing that bugs me is the way the CGI of the girls is done. Doesn't fit well with the rest of the CGI or the show well.

Definitely gonna second Accel world. It just keeps getting better. Zombie manages to keep one-upping itself (given that I haven't read the light novels, and thus don't know the story that's being converted) and is rather lovingly playing up it's natural refuge in audacity. The one I'm really impressed with thus far is Hyouka, partially because I love the way the story is told, and partially because it's just an interesting premise that I haven't seen a thousand ******* times (or at least, it's far enough from its core plot skeleton that I'm not actively recognizing it). Sankarea is pretty good, too, assuming you can get past the Zombie thing (ie: it's using zombies in a more real tone, as opposed to the absurdity of kore wa zombie rate me down ka, since in this case the zombie is a girl and the primary love interest who was turned into a zombie accidentally, as opposed to ayumu's... well... interesting circumstances.).

Oh, and there's Zetman, which I was a lot more excited about until I found out that it was set for a 12 episode run, which sort of killed it for me. I'm still watching it, and it's still awesome, but I hate when good, promising set ups get cut short at ~12 episodes.

pretty much the same for me. I was expecting ****, and got a semi-decent/amusing/cute story instead, so I'm content with it. I also agree with the CGI, that's all sorts of the wrong way to go about it with anime. It's morelike gaming CGI, which just plain doesn't fit.

This week's episode of Nyarko was pretty great.
