Not a big fan of her, myself, though I'm also insanely bugged by her accent. Still, she's way down on my list, either way. There are some incidental characters that I think are better looking.

I'm not entirely sure why the writers feel the need to push the "zomg Renly is teh queer!" angle so much. It served only as a setup for showing Margeary (sp?) as a cold, calculating opportunist who's really only married to Renly for the political advantages (which, of course, is clearly shown later when she marries Joffrey after Renly is assassinated). And, of course, it wasn't in the books (I'm starting to grow tired of this criticism myself, so I'll try to avoid it in the future).

They could have easily characterized Margeary without all the time wasted on the two shirtless men romping around in the sheets. Plus, given that Renly gets assassinated in the almost immediate future, it feels like wasted effort. I guess we'll just have to see if this pans out into anything or not, but my feeling is that it wont, and the writers just inserted it (double entendre!) to be "edgy", or something.

Also, because it must be stated factually for the record: in order of descending hotness:
1. Dany (dark-haired)
2. Melisandre
3. Shae
4. Margeary
4. Gilly

No doubt you have the same qualms about all the gratuitous heterosexual **** scenes that were added to the show, too. Smiley: sly

I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek, but really, I don't see anything with Renly that they haven't already done with other characters. Its HBO; it's pretty much company policy that every other character be involved in some sort of **** romp. Also, there needs to be two such romps per episode. Sure, it's not wholly necessary, but you might as well have gotten on board by now. They might just want a character that folks will root for because of his sexuality whom they can promptly kill off to drive yet another stake through their hearts. Who knows. Smiley: tongue

Fix'd. Yara really does look like my sister-in-law, so I'm not including her. We're trying to figure out a nickname for her that's a little more clever than "Bizarro-Christina".

If you're okay with very minor spoilers: She'll be seen again and has some significance to Sam and Jon's story.. I'll leave it at that. Smiley: grin

"Nega Christina?"

I didn't include Cersei on my list because I don't really find incestuous sociopaths all that attractive. Also, unlike the rest of the gals on the list, I haven't seen her tits.

I've had a thing for Hannah Murray, who plays Gilly, since she was in Skins, here in the UK. She's pretty, and a little weird. I liked that a lot.

Incidentally, the guy who plays Gendry, Joe Dempsie, was in the same programme. He was awesome in it, too.

ETA: They seems to be trying to make us feel sympathy for Theon. I do after the events of DWD, but I didn't before then.

I like the side of Margaery I'm seeing, though. Much more of her grandmother in her.

The bit with Renly seemed too drawn out, though I do like they direction they went with Margeary. Tyrion's scenes more or less followed the book and Dinkledge is one of the better actors in the show, so I didn't have much in the way of complaints there. Though the way they're dealing with Shea, while it gets the point across, doesn't have the same feel to it as the book. I'd actually like to have seen more of Aria's stuff. They condensed about five or six chapters down into a ten minutes scene, a scene that felt a bit rushed. Aside from that, even though not much is going on in the book at this point with Dany, it would have been nice to have at least seen her. Overall I enjoyed it, but it could have been better.

I just don't think they have enough episodes to fit everything in. It's a shame. I have a nagging fear that we're going to be left unsatisfied at the end.

Gratuitous **** sex I guess. I was a bit surprised, not with the **** scene, as that had been alluded to somewhat in the book and it's HBO, but by Margery's accedence to the relationship. Also the actress has a funny look - a sideways smirk or something that gives her a very condescending air.

Really Melisandre? She's old, evil and has a bad dye job. I'm probably not a great judge of female hotness, but I'd stick Sansa in first or second place.

I've been pretty unsatisfied with all the episodes so far this season. The hour long show feels like it's just a mash of highlights.

If it 'wasn't for the cool opening music and scenery, last weeks recap would blend right into this weeks previews.

I'm starting to consider the strategy of ignoring the show until the season is over, then plowing through all 10 episodes back-to-back-to-back. That seems to be the only way to really absorb everything and follow all of the myriad storylines.

Having read the books, I'm not having that problem, but I still prefer watching through a DVD set rather than waiting every week for a new episode. It always seems to be more satisfying that way, and I have a tendency to miss random episodes during the weekly format. Plus, it takes care of the obnoxious cliffhanger problem.

Honestly, I don't know how anyone watched Lost as a weekly show. That must have been torture.

Hmm, yes. It didn't dawn on me which girls could portray the steamy scenes of their characters. So many of the women are young in the books. Danys is only like 14 and I think Margery is only 17 when she marries Renly.

How about Cersei?...she's got nice hair.

I wasn't really looking for tits, but there is the scene in the tower where her and Jamie are going at it doggy style (Until that dam Stark kid shows up!).

I'm well into book 3 right now. Jamie is becoming one of my favorite characters.

Same here. We didn't watch it when it aired, we saw it the first time on Netflix. Many late nights were had, since we just had to see what was coming in the next episode.

Also, I never finished Heroes. It's on StreamPix now, so I'm watching the whole series. It's a lot less confusing this way and I might just be able to get through all the episodes.

It is not only important that Maergary is known as calculating. It's very very important to what she later does that she is widely believed to be a continuing virgin. Her virginity counts in her possibilities, given the society.

It's really them just sexting up the subplots that were hinted at in the books. Renly may have been a poof and Margery may have not been a virgin- but on HBO he's full on **** and everyone seems to know it & Margery's a bit of a whore- albeit calculating like her Grandma. Can't wait to see her go up against another conniving **** later on.

A ton of this week's episode was material that isn't from the books. The Jophrey scene chief among them.

That being said, I thought that it was the best episode of the season, thusfar.

I rather liked last night's episode. I was really looking forward to see how they handled the scene with Melisandre giving birth (?) to the shadow monster. I also liked the scene with Tyrion and Lancel quite a bit.

Roose Bolton looks almost exactly how I had pictured him in my mind's eye.

That's a shame. It's got some good performances by actors from your side of the pond. Dominic West and Idris Elba, off the top of my head. And I think Aiden Gillen (who happens to play Littlefinger in AGoT) is from Ireland.

Aside from having my favorite scene in the entire series (Frank's ride to talk to the Greek), it's very well done and measures up to the rest of the series. Just because it doesn't deal as heavily with the Barksdale crew doesn't make it a bad season. Ziggy is annoying, I'll give you that, but he's still a fairly realistic character. Anyway, the port storyline is certainly better than the newspaper story in season 5, at least as far as characters go.

4 3 2 1 5 is the order I'd rank them in, though 5 isn't a bad season of television by any stretch. It suffers a bit in comparison to the peak of seasons 3 and 4.

I didn't really like Season 2 as much on my first viewing, but after watching the series a second time, Frank Sobotka is easily one of my favorite characters. Season 5 wasn't as bad on a second viewing either.

My issue with Season 2 is that it doesn't exactly fit in with the narrative of the series as a whole &, except for a couple of brief cameos, little from season 2 effects the later seasons. Not only that, but it interrupts the "flow" of the series as unlike the characters introduced in the first season, pretty much none of the characters in Season 2 are relevant to anything going on outside of season 2 (except for the "Greek").

In case anyone's looking for a distraction, Andy Greenwald at Grantland does my favorite episode recaps. They're pretty funny, and spoiler-free (he hasn't read the books).

The character progression of Stringer Bell is pretty huge. The dealings with Prop Joe and Brother Mouzone have ramifications down the line as well. There's plenty of things that impact future seasons. Interrupting the flow of the series isn't a big deal if you watch the seasons in order and don't have prior knowledge that the following seasons deal more with the Barksdale/Stanfield organizations.

Andy Greenwald is going to be crushed at the death of **** King Renly.

Once again, this episode was dominated by Tyrion being whimsical and awesome, while everybody else is gruff and serious. Especially Brienne. That lady is scary.

I know that some episodes have to just tell stories and lay groundwork, but I'm ready for some more action. These last two episodes were good, but let's see some fighting, more dragons, something!

In a different sort of show, Gethin Anthony’s hilariously high-spirited performance as Renly, the horny, queeny kinda-king would have been allowed to stretch out and stay awhile. Maybe he never would have made it to the Iron Throne, but I could at least see him lounging lazily on one made of crushed velvet, continually outwitting his dull sibling Stannis, and dropping gasp-inducing zingers while having his bo-hunk brother-in-law drop his chain mail trousers. Good characters are not in short supply in Westeros, thankfully, but good, funny characters are. So it was a disappointment, though certainly not a surprise, to see Renly taken from behind not five minutes into “The Ghost of Harrenhal.” The culprit wasn’t randy Sir Loras, though, it was Renly’s own smoky nephew, who breezed into the tent on the back of a windstorm and managed to solidify just enough to puncture the youngest Baratheon’s lusty heart. Goodbye, Renly. In another story, you’d be an anchor. But in this predetermined one, you’re merely a footnote.

Question! Where the **** are Meera and Jojen Reed? Shouldn't they be turning up around now?

I'm sure Jojen should be telling Bran about his dream of the sea coming to Winterfell about now.

Also am I misremembering or have they cut the fingers off of the wrong hand for Davos? Wasn't it supposed to be his left? :3
