Best part of the flick.

That was epic, but this was the best Hulk part, IMO:

I can't view youtube at work, but I'm guessing that it's the part where he punches Thor in the building? If so, I agree with you.

Dude, because we went to the movies last weekend the above will more than likely make it to the silver screen & could possibly not suck. Joss Whedon is truly the king of the nerds!

As for which Hulk scene was best, I don't think it really matters because a movie with the Hulk in it not only was pretty damn amazing but even with all the other cool stuff Hulk smashing was the coolest stuff in it. Not only that, but after two movies of varying success (I think Ang Lee made the better movie overall, but Norton's was more entertaining. Kind of like how I now feel about The Dark Knight vs The Avengers now) this (Avengers) version of the Hulk is just about the best Hulk/Banner you could hope for.

My fiance didn't really "get" what Banner meant when he said "That's my secret...I'm always angry." She thought it was a one liner, but it really implied a lot when you go back to his conversation with Stark (in front of Cap) back in the lab. Stark asked him what his secret was & it turns out there isn't one. He's accepted it & can now Hulk out at will (Provided & Magic Staff isn't messing with him before dropping him a couple stories on his face. Oh & in life or death situations, Hulk wins whether Banner wants him to or not). He can't control the Hulk, but he can somewhat direct it. Awesomesauce.

I think the biggest thing to Hulk's success was that no one went in expecting it. We've been presented two movies, which while we could debate on their levels of success, didn't really present much character to him. He showed up, things broke. That was essentially it. And there really isn't much you can do with your basic Hulk model without going into Bruce Banner's MPD and the various Hulk personalities that have been written about for the past almost century. And then, after all the mishaps the Avengers had with their first unsuccessful outing in the Helicarrier, you seem them finally start to form a real team, you still aren't expecting much out of him until WHAM, he sends Thor flying. It's an exceptionally well done set up. Even the scene with Loki is basic at it's core, but as he's walking away and muttering under his breath a fairly classic Hulk line, you can't help but cheer him on.

I really didn't like Whedon's run on the X-Men. There was something about it that got under my skin, though looking back it might have been the artist he was paired with. So I didn't exactly go into the theater with high hopes. So yeah, this is a roundabout way of saying that if Joss Whedon is involved with Guardians of the Galaxy, I'll unquestioningly go see it. The only question would be things like which Quasar they use (pleeeaaase Phyla-Vell!) and just how they'll bring it about. I mean, the GotG is pretty obscure even in comic circles.

Also, it really needs Groot and Rocket Raccoon.

Whedon won't do Guardians, but because they have Avengers money Marvel will do it now. I thought Whedon's run on Astonishing X-Men was fantastic & John Cassadsy's art is brilliant. The art was consistent throughout, he brought back Colossus, & made Kitty Pryde awesome again. Sure, the Danger & Hellfire arcs weren't as good as the Ord stuff. It was like Whedon does a season of X-Men, hits all the Whedon cliches, but is funny enough to be entertaining.

(I may have the hardcover)

I'm really hoping the Ant-Man movie takes off, though any movie featuring Groot is destined to be awesome.

Also the next Superman movie and Wolverine are being worked on.

Edit: Guess we can Omnibus this thread, if only to get under Joph's skin.

Captain America 2: Anthony Mackie rumored to play The Falcon. I wouldn't be against the idea, as Falcon has been a pretty constant in Cap's stories. Admittedly, I'm a little concerned over the idea of introducing the Winter Soldier so early in the franchise, though at the same time it was one of the better storylines.

I'm hoping for a Captain America, agent of SHIELD flick, up until the point he goes rogue to take down the WInter Soldier. Throw in appearances by Black Widow, Hawkeye, & Fury and you've got a pretty good flick. Falcon's not a bad idea, but I'd rather see Black Panther...

I'd love to see more Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull too, even if it follows the comic story line to a degree & he's all in the bad guys head.

I'd like to see the Black Panther, but in his own movie. Falcon is good for this role since he's basically a B/C Lister side-kick anyway, whereas Panther is definitely a main character.

In other news, Dwayne Johnson to possibly play Lobo, and I don't like the new Iron Man armor for Iron Man 3. Too gold, which is weird since the olde second armor was all gold. Oh, and add that Sebastian Stan is (supposedly) signed for the next Captain America movie and has a six picture contract like pretty much every named character associated with The Avengers. I don't want to scroll up and want to be lazy but I'll say (again?) that I think it's too early in the franchise to bring back Bucky, even as a bad guy. Need at least one or two movies to show how much Cap laments over the loss in my opinion, to make the eventual reveal that much more powerful.

Chris Evans was in my bar tonight. I found out when one of the bartenders came over to try & bum a cigarette for him. He was really excited to receive a Marlboro Red.

That's right; I just gave Captain America cancer.

Hell, Evans is jacked & funny. He already played two other Marvel characters (& a DC one) & Reynolds isn't getting around to it, so why not?
