Don't know if anyone has seen the trailer for this movie. It's like Blair Witch Project meets X-Men.

Release is February 3, 2012.

A convoluted manchild's soap opera where nothing happens for 99% of the movie?

I'm interested.

Huh. Might just be interesting enough to merit a theater view.

looks cool.
I'm sure the plot will be:
3 friends, get powers from..Aliens. They tape themselves having fun. One gets power hungry. The other 2 have to stop him.
Black guy always dies.

Here's a bit of free advice to Warner Brothers: You can go ahead and drop that Akira project dead right now because Chronicle has done it far better than you ever would have.

Just saw it today, really good film.
Necro Warning: This post occurred more than thirty days after the prior, and may be a necropost.

I'm a fair bit skeptical. From the trailers, it struck me as one of those movies they made solely based around a special effect (like say, Jumper).

Is there anything to the movie beyond what it outwardly looks like?

Haven't seen it, but it's getting pretty good reviews for a "found footage" flick.

Took my Father with me to see this. He is omfgsuperpicky when it comes to movies. He said it was different. That means he didn't hate it. He did say "glad you paid" but he says that every time I pay (and I always pay because he would rather wait for it to come out to rent). He really hates the format they used, but I think it was done very well. It wasn't shaky (but if you see the movie, you will understand why).

I liked it.

And boy didn't I call it? I was pretty close. It is a gift :p Smiley: lol

Mmm...that's what I figured. Rotten Tomatoes is throwing me off, though. It's up at like 85%!

Well there is of course more to the story, but basically (without giving away to much I hope):

You have the totally not popular kid (they are all Seniors in HS), the Kid in the middle that quotes people (he and the not popular one are cousins), and the Popular kid. They find a living crystal and it does something to them. Over the next few weeks they find they can do "stuff" (telekinesis). The not popular kid has/owns the camera. He is also the person the story really revolve around. He has some family issues. One of the issues starts up and basically is the spark that starts the kaboom.

Isn't that also the plot for Prodigies?

I wouldn't know. Not many french movies come to the states. I got (from a trailer) that 5 kids played a game, and passed a test within the game that would not normally be passed. They did so because they are "special" and all have been used at some point in time? They decide to get revenge on the...human race? Only the teacher/role model can stop them?

That isn't what happened the Chronicle.
