So it seems the obvious theme of the new season is Faith and Religion. Pretty interesting to see Dexter's questions about it.

All I know is I'm so glad to see Dexter is BACK. I feel that there wasn't nearly enough killing in the last season. I realize that makes me sound like a sick ****.

Anyone else tuning in?

It's the internet. I'd be shocked if someone didn't agree with you.

Isn't feeling guilty about routing for Dexter one of the shows larger draws? Well, it always was for me.

Glad he got some, as it doesn't happen all that often for Dex. Looks like Dexter's in a good place at the moment, how's God gonna mess it up?

Fantastic opening episode; right into the action and classic Dexter. The "Hammer Time" dance scene had me cracking up. Overall a really great start to the season.

Mos Def is in this season? Add Dexter "Prime", Edward James Olmos, & Colin Hanks and you've got yourself a pretty good season shaping up.

Hopefully, Mos is the "new" Doakes since, it appears for now at least, Quinn isn't looking at Dexter.

Overall, the season premier was pretty good. It feels almost like a series reboot.

Also, did they show any images of Rita in the recap montage in the beginning? I know they mentioned her name, but I don't think they showed a single scene of her, which I thought was odd.

Not as good as the opener, but I like Mos Def's character. Deb was by far the star of this episode, which was amusing at times.

I did not like how Dexter seemed to have to go through no effort to get his kill this week, though. The setup is usually the most interesting part!

I know what you mean. But I assumed it was the writers way of showing how Dexter's "ritual" with Harrison is more important to him now.

Also, yahoo for the step-brats not showing up.

I'm just getting caught up; at episode 8 in season 6 right now. The last episode was a complete filler episode (Dexter goes kinda crazy, his half-brother replaces his father as his conscience, and it updates the situation with Trinity's family), which very much disappointed me. But a friend of mine just finished episode 9 and said "FINALLY Dexter gets interesting again."

I have a hunch on what it's going to be, but I'm not positive. If it is, I'm going to enjoy it... but it'll be the first time I've guessed a twist before it happens in the series, which is slightly disappointing. Spoiler alert...
I think the priest (Geller? Gellar?) is like Dexter's dark passenger. He obviously existed at some point, but he's been dead for a while now. A couple of things point me in this direction. First, when the girl was released, she mentioned that she kept hearing Travis talk to someone named "The Professor." Why didn't she ever hear the professor speak himself? He's pretty loud and outgoing with his opinions. At the very least, he's no quieter than Travis. Second, all the scenes where victims were killed never show Geller doing it. Even the scene where he kidnaps the woman he eventually lets go pits him in a very similar position to Dexter: in a car, his mind at his side in human form. Finally, it seems silly to me that no one recognizes Geller when they go out. Sure, when they first find out that the police are after him, that kinda makes sense; he even says he needs to go into hiding. But then he keeps showing up in Travis's neighborhood, or his sister's neighborhood, in broad daylight. People would totally see him.

To be fair, the ONLY reason I'm guessing this is because of my friend's comment. I anticipate a good twist, and that seems the most likely to me.

PS: Don't tell me if I'm right. I'll know in a couple of days (not watching more until December, as we're at our bandwidth capacity for November already).

Just finished episode 9.

Called it!

Kinda sucks that Louis is going to turn out to be some kind of creeper or potentially more. I really liked his character; appealed to the nerd in me. Kinda reminded me of "Chuck," if anyone's seen that show.

I don't know what's really going on with Louis yet. I thought the same thing too, but now it looks like he really might just be what he appears to be: a rich geek making a video game about serial killers.

I tried to like episode 10, but Boardwalk Empire has really raised the bar this season & has supplanted old Dex as my favorite show on TV.

I'm behind a few episodes. I totally called the Dark Passenger right at the very very start of this season's story ark. It was such a good story telling device, a "mirror", I would have been disappointed if it DIDN't turn out that way. I have a theory on how the Professor died in the past. That is, after all, an important incidental plot point.

Of the kills this season, I loved the angel in the greenhouse best. I am both totally and utterly devastated for her, and entranced by the artistry and beauty of the image. Whenever I think of it, I want to dive forward and save her at the last minute.

I've enjoyed Deb getting on Dexter's back for him always brushing her off. It shows how far Dex still has to go to get his even his public personality reasonably human. We know how much Dex really truly values, admires, and loves his little sister, and it's so sad she never ever knows how much she means to him.

Just when I thought Dexter couldn't get any creepier...

Deb now seems to have a "thing" for Dexter.

And I don't know WHAT to think about Louis, but the scenes between him & Dexter (And his solo scene with the ice truck killer hand) seem to at least imply he knows exactly who Dexter really is...

Somehow.

And I think he may be connected to Masuka's original assistant somehow too...

I think Louis is setting up the next season, at the very least. And sitting watching Deb dreaming about Dexter weirded me out alot more than I thought it might, since we got a taste of it the week before on the "next week on dexter" thing.

About ******* time!

And by "About ******* Time" I mean; "About ******* time that Deb finds out about Dexter" & not "about ******* time Deb falls in love with Dexter".

I dunno. I don't think I like where the next season is going to go.

There's no way Deb is going to turn in Dexter, so she'll wind up trying to accept it, and I don't imagine that will be a great 7th season.
That's the only way I can see it turning out.

It worked fine for a couple of other people (finding out about his dark passenger), but his own sister?

I wondered all along if and how They'd deal with Feb finding out about Dexter. In fantasy land, Dex is a real turn on, and I'd shack up with him as he is. I'd let Dex roam free. but in reality even if he was my one true love I'd turn him into the police. It's just who I am, and it's something I've found out about myself for sure.

The Deb in-love thing totally took me by surprise. There's so many things I think about it that I can't type out just now. What occurs to me latest is poor Deb, that's TWO serial Killers she's fallen totally in love with now, and not spotted with her police officery skillz. [/spoiler]Smiley: cry

Seemed almost like a "normal" episode until Deb got her head out of her *** at the end, there. Things are looking like they'll be getting good...
