That's disappointing because the Hangover wasn't that funny.

Flea watched this the other day and said it was amusing enough that she finished it but not funny enough to really make her laugh at any point.

She laughed at The Hangover though.

I laughed SO MUCH through the English version of Death At A Funeral. I've heard the American version is ****.

My husband loved Hangover, I thought it was ok. Mike Tyson pretty much ruined it for me.

Watching Bridesmaids is on my list of stuff to do while the husband is out of town. Sooo, maybe this weekend.

Saw Hangover. Was watchable. Didn't disprove theory that Zach Galifianakis is almost as overrated as Seth Rogen.

While I agree with lolgaxe often enough as it is, never has he been more right than he is in this thread.

I watched Bridesmaids this weekend. The self-absorbed depressing life of the main character weighed more heavily than the light-hearted comedic action. The whole food poisoning and puking and pooping was kind of over-the-top yuckiness. I liked the Irish Cop, and a couple of the bridesmaids were fun (the two that ended up kissing). All-in-all though, had I not paid for the movie, I probably wouldn't have watched it til the end.

Part of my sourness about this movie probably comes from the fact that I'd read so many good reviews and was looking forward to some good comedy and was disappointed.

I liked Hangover better.

Not to open a can of worms or anything, but I had an inkling that some of the reviews might have bumped up the movie's score because of what it represents for womens' roles. A lot of the reviews that I read dumped effusive praise on the movie for having women in the type of movie that's typically reserved for a male cast (i.e: The Hangover).

Not that there's anything inherently wrong about that, I guess, provided that they make it clear in the review.

To me, though, that only makes it worse. The women's roles weren't any different, they just had some funny lines.

In the end, the movie was still a romantic comedy. That's not what I wanted to see. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy rom-coms, but only when I know what I'm watching. I expected a female Hangover. Did not deliver.

Ah. Yeah, the reviews that I had read were pitching it as a female Hangover. Interesting that it turned out to be a romantic comedy.

I think the romance was even secondary to this troubled annoying chicks little jaunt through emoland.

I just saw this on llegal download home video. Very few parts few humorous, and god were the little contest fits between the main girl and the rich girl both awkward and boring.

Better idea : A whole movie of the fat chick and the balls in my face chick. The one part of the scene with the reckless driving with "beer... om nom nom" in the cops face can tag along.

Also : Least attractive quirky romantic comedy male lead in recent memory
