Not having Crayon Shin-chan in a list of significant anime is like is like not having The Simpsons in a list of significant American cartoons.

No Astro Boy, no Yamato as others have mentioned, the list started off well enough but quickly tapered off.

Awww, seagulls aren't so bad. Maybe I just don't mind them because I've spent my whole life living on the shore though.

Next time, he should fly in with crazy witches that want to slaughter everyone on the forum instead, even though the sound novel version was probably superior to the anime version.

Lessee, I have seen Sailormoon and Trigun from that list. I've also seen Cowboy Bebop. A lot of others, too. I've seen Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky as far as movies.

Still a rabid Sailormoon fanboi to this day.

I didn't really "get" Cowboy Bebop - some episodes seemed sort of odd (wasn't there one where they were all killed by fridge mold?) And, of course, there's the fact that Spike ******* DIES. I want HAPPY endings, damnit!

A few other series I really loved:
Azumanga Daioh - Usually a sub purist, but I actually like this dub equally because of Osaka's accent.
Ah! My Goddess - See comments on Sailormoon. I love me some romance stories.
Gunslinger Girl - Poignant. Mildly disturbing.

Also worth watching at least once:
Last Exile
Figure 17
Princess Nine
Outlaw Star

Can I throw a "Must watch one episode of any anime twice. Once with subs and once *********** by 4Kids." in as a suggestion?

*shudder*

I do vastly prefer my anime with subs. I've never seen an anime I liked better with a dub, though there were plenty that were clearly superior to others (FMA, for example, was remarkably well done imo).

But, I have been watching a lot of dubbed anime lately. Netflix has very few subs.

I don't mind dubs, as long as I haven't started watching the show with subs and am used to the Japanese VA. Also, one of the nice things about subs and not understanding any Japanese is that I can't tell how bad the VA is unless it's really bad.

Honestly, one of my biggest problems with dubs (beyond the plethora of terrible actors) is that they are atrocious when about finding proper voices for children and the elderly. 10 year olds consistently sound 18 and every old person sounds like they are on the brink of death...

Whoops I misread the post I was replying too. Remember when Cartoon network got into a lot of trouble when they didn't censor a "bad" word in Outlaw Star? That's an anime that got me into anime along with the other ones Cartoon Network use to play.
