It was good, not great. Skip any 3D showing unless you're really into Astronomy, 'cause the only cool "3D" part is during the credits where you fly around the universe. It reminded me a bit of a 3D version of the new planetarium at the Boston Museum of Science, but these were fictional. I also may be looking to far into it, but it seems to me that the Asgardian "world tree" was actually just the structure of what we know as the known universe.

Anyhoo, Thor was good. I'd love to have seen more of Thor cutting loose like he did when fighting Frost Giants, as his other fight scenes were underwhelming. Also, while I think they did a great job with the casting, at the same time there wasn't anything they could do that wouldn't have made the Asgardians, Thor included, look ridiculous walking around a town in the mid-west.

Thor is at its best when the Asgardians are in Asgard (or on the Frost Giant world) or when Thor is running around the mid-west sans costume. JMS (the writer of the movie, creator of Babylon 5, & comic writer for 10+ years) did a great job making the Asgardians relatable as well as "explaining" Asgardian technology as something "non-magical".

Also, Heimdal was ******* cool.

I'd give it a 7/10.

He did have a very good run, until Gwen's love children with Norman Osbourne showed up. Oh, & "The Other" was crap, too.

I absolutely loved the Morlun/Ezekiel stuff, though.

Because most of the people that are going to see the movie won't know that.

We didn't have a choice. The theater said that they were making them run the movie in 3-D only for the first four weeks.

I don't know, but unless you watch the credits, you wouldn't know it was in 3D anyway. Except, you know, for those annoying glasses. Whoever invented those damn things deserves a special place in hell. They hurt my ears. :(

I didn't really intend to see it before... I still probably won't, unless I have some friends that are dying to go or something. Money's tight enough that I rather save the $10 than go to a movie I don't really want to see.

I'm also seriously jealous of the ticket prices around everyone else. >:(

For me, that award goes to The Strangers (that horror/thriller movie that came out in '08 with Scott Speedman in it--thought it was AWFUL).

The theater I usually go to is kind of old and not very large. They only have four screens and the place is really no frills. The one thing worth going there though, is that any movie that starts between 4:00 and 5:30 only costs five dollars. They do charge an extra two dollars for 3D movies, but it's still cheaper than anywhere else. I've actually started going to more movies since I found out about the deal.

I just discovered yesterday that one of the local theaters does $5 movies all day Tuesday, for any movie. The theater is really, really crappy, but that will be a great excuse to go see some of the movies that I want to see but not enough to spend $9.50 on (which is what tickets normally cost here, unless it's 3D, in which case you're looking at $12, or $15 if you want 3D and IMAX).

"A Date Movie." Only film I ever wanted to walk out on; but I was in NYC and paid $16 for a ticket

To be fair... that movie didn't even have promise, lol.
