I'm so far behind, I just started watching Detective Conan.

So a friend of mine brought up a fairly astute observation. C is Evangelion; to which I responded "yup, straight down to the pseudo-incest." It's still quite different from many of the other series out there, which I like.

Nichijou is an improvement on the slice of life genre to me, in that they distilled it and stop pretending to have a plot. I describe it to another friend by telling him to go look at a bunch of clips from youtube of the show. That is literally the show, one youtube clip after another.

I had to drop Tiger and Bunny. I thought the basic setup was interesting, but I quickly realized the characters and story were awful. None of the heroes in the show seem like adults, they all act like children. Their abilities are terribly boring as well. Two generically strong individuals, 4 elements, and a guy who wears armor?

So far my favorite of the last season has been "Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai" aka "We still don't know the name of the flower we planted that day" aka"the show that has a name that is way too long" aka "Ano Hana/That Flower" (for short.)

Beautiful animation, a gripping story, and generally well liked by everyone we've shown it to. Shame about the horrendously long name.

I've been watching Ano Hana as well, but forgot to mention it. Decent show, not my favorite of the season though since it seems a little forced, I guess.

Another show I forgot to mention is Sket Dance. Actually, there's nothing impressive about it and don't really recommend it, but mentioning it allows me to use Youtube... as the ending song is by The Pillows, same group who did the music for FLCL. Enjoy!

That is a very apt description. You kind of nailed it right on the head.

Just watched the ending of season two for "The World God Only Knows."

Despite note "wrapping up" the series, and being more of a filler episode... the very ending of it made me SO excited for next season! 5 new girls, plus they finished with the opening song from the first season (which is one of my favorite anime opening songs ever).

Gahhh, can't wait!

And, if you were paying attention, showed at least one of the goddesses.

But yeah, best season ending that wasn't a series ending I've ever seen.

I thought the first season's final episode was better- God of Conquest Mode FTW!

As far as episode itself, I can't disagree with you. I think I worded it incorrectly and did not convey exactly what I meant. I'm mostly thinking about how well it leaves you ready for the next season, though rereading what I wrote, that's certainly not what I said.

That's exactly how I felt. I think it's probably because I've read the manga and know how the story is really going to start picking up now. If I didn't know who the characters were, I doubt I'd be quite as excited.

So the end of the final episode was absolutely amazing, but the episode itself was just all right. I did like that they showed a bunch of the girls from both the first and second season again, though. I felt like the second season purposely distanced itself from the girls in the first, but this episode was a subtle reminder of the original four, at least two of whom play very important parts later in the story.

Yup, totally saw that Smiley: grin Spoiler warning ahoy for those who haven't read the manga...

Rereading the manga, I was struck by the thought that originally the author didn't know what the story would be. Tenri's goddess is said the be "the one" who sealed the demons of old hell. Only many chapters later does this get changed to "Oh, I have several sisters as well." I'm wondering if the anime series will follow the same style, implying that Diana is the only one who sealed the demons, or if from the start they'll say there are several.

I'm a few eps behind on TWGOK2, because I didn't want to start the last conquest until the season was finished. Now I'll have to watch those today...

And both OPs (full versions) are on my current playlist. I do like the first one better, but they're both great.

Speaking of endings, Gosick's ending was pretty good.

Yes, it was.

On the other hand- Deadman Wonderland had a boring ending (kind of expected though).

NO U! Smiley: tongue

I just found it surprising, as I could have sworn we did. It seems a little late in the series to make a thread on it...

You know what keeps getting better and better? Steins;Gate.

This is definitely the best show of its season.
