The first of the streamed episodes came out a couple of days ago, if you haven't heard yet. Just passing along the information. All I have to say is: Kuroneko Smiley: inlove

You've never heard of the series? I highly recommend it, though Kirino does get kind of annoying after a while. The full name is pretty long, so we all just shorten it to OreImo, but here's the wiki page if you're curious.

The episode was so awesome without Kirino in it, that is all.

Kuroneko

If it's not Kuroneko-sama, I don't care.

I watched the first 5 episodes last night, and was thoroughly entertained.

So I was really worried, cause I had assumed this was another half-season anime (that seems to be all I've been watching lately). Is there an actual release schedule for this?

This is technically still a half season anime. There are the 12 original episodes, an ep12v2, and then four additional episodes (including ep 13). At least that's how I understand it. Source.

What xypin said. The series itself is finished, but they are releasing further episodes about once a month (I believe they coincide with the DVD releases). They aren't exactly OVAs, since they advance the original plot (I guess some OVAs might do this, but I can't think of any right away), but they are basically extra episodes.

Ah. That is slightly disappointing. There is so much left unanswered :(.

Fix in the sense you never want to see another cat again? I have an app for that.

In case you weren't aware, the final episode was released last week.

edit: Watched it, thought it was a near perfect ending. I still wish we could have learned more about Saori (more specifically, wish the characters learned more).

Discuss.

Watched all of it over the weekend. Gotta say, the WORST part of the series was Kirino, hands down, no questions asked. I loved Kuroneko and the neighborhood girl. The fact that no one gets "chosen" in the end is kind of a tease.

Good series though, lots of hilarious moments, lots of awkward moments. Loved the introduction song as well!

I have the OP on my animu playlist. It is a good one. Honestly though, I disagree about Kirino. I thought her character was exactly what it needed to be (even if she isn't very endearing most of the time). :P

The light novel series is still ongoing. The anime only covered up to volume 5 (including the two extra episodes), and volume 8 is the most recent. I'm not sure if there will be more anime to come (I certainly hope so), but the story itself is definitely not over.

Hmm, Mangafox only has through Vol. 4... where do you read it?

No matter how hard I searched, this is the best I could find. It's not a translation, but rather a summary of each volume with some commentary mixed in. I'm not a huge fan of it (English and Japanese are both secondary languages to him, and his comments and how he writes can be irritating), but frankly it's the only thing I've found, so if you absolutely have to know what happens (like I did), then you may have to resort to that.
