What especially annoyed me was the ring-haired girl

I thought she liked him too, but just didn't make a move because she knew Sekai liked him?

Also, it would appear that I never downloaded school days.. I probably watched it on crunchyroll. Must change that.

Sorry for the bump, but I just watched ep 6 and just had to say that it's been a while since I watched an anime that made me this uneasy.

That was pretty much my exact response. Made me squirm uncomfortably in my seat - something not even oodles of blood or heaps of fan=service can do Smiley: lol

I hate to bump such an old thread, especially when there were two of them over the course of a year, but I found something relevant.

The tale of an infamouse love triangle begins, with you guiding Makoto through the perils and pitfalls of romance with Kotonoha, Sekai, and the other heroines of School Days. Will you skillfully maneuver your way to one of the game's more than a dozen happy endings, or will you end up on the road (or boat) to perdition?

Do it and create a "Let's Play" kinda thing for it, IMO.

Yeah, but after you were let go, you'd go straight to Valhalla to get a high five from Odin.

Sooooo... some news!

School Days is now available. Also, we're looking for a new editor in chief, which I like to think means I can't get fired for doing a Let's Play series. Smiley: sly

Guess what I just ordered? Smiley: grin

Read the manga while being bored on the train yesterday. While it was okay, I didn't really find it interesting enough to recommend to everyone. Would you guys say the anime is better? If so, I'll give that a shot later today.

School days is, imo, one of those ceremonial animes that everyone who watches anime needs to watch.

The manga is VERY different compared to the anime. The anime is much better; in fact, the manga was below average in my mind. As far as I remember, the manga was kinda just your average school days (heh) love triangle, with a shocking and tragic end. The protagonist is a bumbling fool, but not that bad a guy... just indecisive.

The anime starts with that same feeling, but by the fourth (I think) episode, the protagonist starts to act in a way that makes you squirm. By the sixth, you're distinctly uncomfortable. From that point on it's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Unlike in the manga, the protagonist in the anime is a complete A-hole. His indecision is soon overtaken by his libido, and apparently he is wearing Eau De Coitus, because he somehow starts attracting girls left and right. The thing is, you can still kind of understand his actions: if girls are throwing themselves at a teenage guy, most would give in. Finally you get to the end, which is MUCH more startling than the manga. And you're rewarded with the meme "Nice boat..."

Watch the anime. Heck, now I want to watch it again before the game arrives! Fair warning, there's a lot more mature scenes and fanservice in the anime (I recall none in the manga). I wouldn't watch it on your phone while riding on the train with people around Smiley: lol

Edit: So yeah, started rewatching. Good God, by episode 6 this is SO freaking uncomfortable...

I think this thread deserves a mention of Sengoku Rance, just as a sorta genre shoutout.

I found myself being entirely indifferent towards this anime up until the final episode.

My thoughts.

Oh, FML.

Got the e-mail confirming shipment a while ago, but hadn't seen the game show up. Finally realized why, when today I got this e-mail from my Dad:
Quote:
Paul,

The School Days game you ordered came. Do you want us to mail it to your work address? What is it?

Dad

It dawned on me, with mounting horror, that I had input my parents' home address (which is the address used for my CC) instead of my apartment's. Good Lord, PLEASE don't let the box art have been awkward.
