After googling around a bit the top two picks for Roland seem to be Javier Bardem and Viggo Mortensen. Most of my picks are a bit too old for the task, unfortunately. If I had to pick between the two I think Bardem would win. Maybe Hugh Jackman or Russel Crowe will throw their hats into the ring? What do you guys think?

I think I don't know what you're talking about.

He's talking about AIDS the planned three Dark Tower movies with two television series' between to buttress the story. This really seems like the most promising adaptive format for the seven book series. It will be interesting to see who the final casting is as this appears to be undertaking of massive proportions. I wonder if they will have to use different actors for Jake.

Unless you were just being an ***. Smiley: lol

Seriously though, it's going to be fascinating to see if they can get this processed and turn up with a good product.

Viggo Mortensen's my pick, just 'cause I don't picture Roland with a spanish accent. Bardem is a great actor though, so I wouldn't be too bummed if he got it.

This. But if I remember right, Bardem has played a role here and there where he can minimize his accent. That's what acting is all about.

But man oh man, I've got a hard on knowing that this is in pre-production.

Newest news has Christian Bale as the newest front runner to play Roland. Wouldn't suck, but I'd rather have Viggo.

Oh, & Eddie simply has to be played by Ryan Reynolds. No one does snarky like Reynolds.

He might be a bit old too, but Michael Wincott would make a great Roland too, his voice alone would be perfect.

And Ryan Reynolds as Eddie would work quite well.

I always pictured Roland as Eastwood in his younger days.

Bardem comes close enough.

Too true.

I'd have to lean towards Viggo.

Missed the necro-post warning and subsequent link.

Can't really say I'm surprised. The idea was a bit too ambitious. Smiley: motz
