Bieste. No comment.

What's up with Lea/Rachel being twiggy now. Was I just imagining that, or has she gotten disgustingly skinny?Overall a decent episode, no memorable music pieces for me.

I was sad that Emma wasn't on this episode.

Agreed, both about Lea and the episode/music.

CHARICE!

Having a Filipino girlfriend made this episode AMAZING. Sunshine is Charice, a Filipino idol super famous over there and who has gained increased popularity here since Oprah took her under her wing. Somehow I missed hearing about this before this season started...

Episode was pretty middle-of-the-road otherwise. Really enjoyed "Billionaire," enough that I might buy the single off Amazon when it goes up. Charice's song was pretty amazing at showcasing her AMAZING voice (she became famous at like... 8, for outsinging Whitney Houston), but I didn't know the song itself. Bieste is an interesting development, and new gay boy does have huge lips. Overall it set the pace - just wish Emma had been in the episode somehow. Ahhh well!

I honestly didn't think she was singing it. I was sad because I thought all of the Glee "kids" had such wonderful voices, and her performance made me think that wasn't her. Your post made me happy to know she was singing. Thank you.

I also wasn't sure she was actually singing.

Yeah, Lea looks like she lost a decent amount of weight. I don't think she looks unhealthy - yet. She didn't need to lose any weight though.

I loved the Telephone clip with Rachel and Sunshine in the bathroom, that was great. Granted I'm a huge Lady Gaga fan, so that probably has a lot to do with it lol.

Definitely not surprised to see the Sue and Will alliance fall apart so quickly.

Favorite Britney line: "Coach Biest didn't touch my boobs, but I kind of want to touch hers."

Also, glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks new cute quarterback boy is going to end up being Kurt's new boytoy...

Can't wait for next week's episode. As much as I don't like Britney Spears, her music is pretty catchy and they picked some good ones for the preview. I just hope Britney herself won't be in the episode.

So I missed the first half the episode, sue me, I came in at "Stronger." I liked Toxic, I hate the new Paramore song, so forget that.

What I really took away from the second half?

Rachel is a manipulative ******.

I LOVE both of the songs in the preview for next week!

So excited, although it seems like a super goofy episode plot.*

* And it made me want grilled cheese.

Quite a meh episode. I liked a couple songs but nothing special... and dear god that kid is disgusting.

Next week does look good though.

Tonights Episode was a Brittany Spears sex riot...Loved it!

Loved that it was centered around the character Britney (in glee), hated that it was mostly remakes of Britney videos.

Also, nitrous doesn't make you trip. It makes you giggle, hear "wha-wha-wha" sounds, & fall down.

My girlfriend hated this episode for exactly this reason. In her own words, "Little kids watch this show. The nerdy Jewish kid was practically ************* It was supposed to come off as funny I guess but it just shocked and disgusted me. I really hated it."

I thought he was rather funny, but then again I have a demented sense of humor. :D

Overall I wasn't that impressed with this episode. I thought Toxic was great, but the rest of the songs were just meh. I agree that they should have done something different than just redoing the Britney videos, that was a dumb move.

I can only imagine they did that because the kids were having "dreams" about the songs, and the videos are what they know. I honestly hadn't seen enough of any of Brittany's videos to know they were exactly the same. Smiley: lol

I wonder if a simple "redo" of the videos was all Brittany's camp would allow?

It's always interesting to speculate on stuff like that, but I think in this case I think it's just what Ryan Murphy wanted to do. Of course, that is also just my speculation :P.

All I could think for most of the songs was "Holy Auto-tunage, Batman!" The song choices were excellent - the songs sung were FAIL, because they hardly sounded anything like the normal singers. I was hoping for some great songs, but instead I got robotic versions that didn't feel the mood at all. Mercedes is going to sing a riveting song during church? No, wait, instead it sounds like she turned on a boombox and just sat back. Finn is going to bust out some REM to show his feelings? Nope, just kidding. It sounds like he's alone in a sound room, recording his voice without any emotion, inflection, or interference. The auto-tuning took all the heart, emotion, and sentiment out of the songs.

the sole exception was the last song, which started off amazingly... and ended after ONE VERSE. I was so disappointed.

The subject matter itself was incredibly emotional, but the songs ruined it. And not because the singing was bad - but because it was TOO good. A total lack of emotion or change in the songs made it ruined. When people are upset of desperate, they don't sing better than ever - they get raw, crackly, and emotional. NONE of that came through.

BRB, going to listen to the original "What if God was One of Us" to really get into the music.

Watching the episode right now and had to pause to say that Puck singing "Only The Good Die Young" is probably the best Glee song I've heard to date.

To be fair, I missed the first ten minutes and this song, so I'll have to rewatch it today :-P

Puck doing "Only the Good Die Young" was definitely great.

I agree 100%. I was looking forward to that song all week from the previews, and then was very disappointed.

After watching the first 10 minutes I had missed, I concede that "Only the Good Die Young" was good... but I stand by my point of "HOLY AUTO-TUNAGE!" Puck is awesome, but I felt like he was needlessly autotuned. Sure, on the "Nice white dress and a party on your confirmation!" part I can understand auto-tuning... but the rest of the song is easy to sing and it's a complete shame that they felt the need to alter his voice for it. Give me some graininess, some... inflection! Something!

Sigh. The music of this episode was amazing, the plot was great and emotional, the lines were hilarious at points (Sue, Puck, Kurt describing God as an evil midget in a teapot), but the singing was so mechanically altered that I just couldn't love it as much as I wanted to :-(

I must be deaf or something, because I didn't notice the auto tuning nearly as much as you did Locke. I tend to only get bothered by it when it's really obvious, like in the Telephone song during this season's first episode.

I really loved this episode though. My dad passed away of a brain tumor when I was in high school, so definitely some easy relatability there. I'm also glad that they didn't treat the atheists like freaks or converted them by the end of the episode.

Also, Finn was pretty damn cute about the whole "I wanna touch Rachel's bewbs" thing. I thought that was pretty funny.

"It was just side boob, but it was still awesome."

After watching the show again, I decided I really like it. However, it still feels a lot like their voices were altered. Too good, too on-key. I dunno, it's tough to explain - maybe I'm listening too closely and expecting the actual song, not their voices. Maybe their singing voices are completely different than their talking voices. Maybe I'm just drunk whenever I watch the episode. Who knows?

But it was a great song selection and good plot in this episode. Best of the new season, for sure.
