So before this three day weekend started, I was about nine episodes behind. I decided I needed to finish it because the show up to that point has been (besides a few bumpy patches) one of the best shows on TV. The two part finale wasn't too bad. It was interesting to finally learn what had happened on the alternate earth after Peter was taken by Walter. Anyone know what was with the repeated references to alternate Charlie's worms/spiders? What the fudge is going to happen to Olivia?

Overall, I was pretty impressed that with the second season starting so slow, it was able to at least reach a point where a lot of the hanging threads were finally brought together.

In season one, there was an episode where some slug thing kind of grew inside people and then escaped out of their mouths. I'm assuming it's a reference to that, similar to how the quarantined areas are in that amber stuff that was used on the bus.

Something I was a bit put off by.

Olivia and the others had the ability to initiate the travel between worlds because of the cortexiphan experiments. Without the others (all dead now) Olivia didn't have enough power to get everyone back to their world. So William and Walter decide to get the accelerator to boost the effects of her powers. With Bell eventually sacrificing himself to boost the power. One problem though. The Olivia who was there to go to the other side was Alter-Olivia.

So are they going to say that Alter-Olivia also went though William and Walter's trials, or are they going to ignore the 15 or so minutes before when they were discussing how Olivia's powers needed to be boosted since the others were gone and just say that the accelerator with William was enough to do it?

Also, Alter-Olivia being the one to go across wasn't that big of a surprise, since it shows her sneak up on Olivia and Bell as Olivia went to use the grenade.

I hate to say it, but I don't see this show lasting for one, maybe two more seasons. They seem to lack a central story that they move forward between episodes.

It's like in some episodes, the 'alternate universe' doesn't even exist (i.e. there is no mention of it). I'm fine with them solving miscellaneous cases, but there should be some plot points to move the grander story forward.

It's going to be like X-Files. There is/was a story line there, but the majority of the episodes did little (if anything) to move the storyline forward.

I don't think a show has to last for like 10 seasons in order to be a good show. I'd see nothing wrong with Fringe lasting three or four seasons total.

So here is what I foresee to come:

-Olivia confessed her love to Peter. At some point Peter is going to notice the tattoo (I never did catch what it was of, they did more then one close up of it). He will either ask her sister (Alter-Olivia didn't have a sister) and she will be like "What? A tattoo? Not my sister" and it will be all hush hush as they begin to spin and "use" alter-Olivia.

-Olivia is caged up, I think she is going to go nuts and her powers will be fully unlocked. Then she will be going all godzilla one people.

-More doors are going to be opened, and we will have shows that take place in both Earths as the fight to control Peter is on.

Well, she did. Her sister just died during child-birth.

I think Walter will be the first to notice Alter-Olivia's true identity though.

They used the particle collider to make the door stop, then Bell sac'd himself to open the door. From what I understood watching, Olivia played no part in going back.
Otherwise, that would be a pretty big *****-up on their part.

I guess it says something about a story when you don't realize how attractive the main character is until after it's over. I honestly never really thought about it that much ... but yesterday I was looking up when Fringe was supposed to be coming back, and stumbled upon a small photo shoot Anna Torv did for Esquire magazine. Smiley: eek

I also found out she did the voice for the chick from Heavenly Sword? Never played the game though, not big on the whole hack and slash, God of War, etc types.

Real Fringe talk:
Peter likes Alter-Olivia better than Olivia... his mind new it wasn't the real Olivia long before he admitted it to himself.

PS. Necropost... but this forum doesn't get a lot of activity anyway, so as long as it's on topic, it's all good.
