Angel Beats! & K-on!!Follow

The first five episodes have aired, and while I was unsure about Angel Beats! at first, I'm growing to like the show.

Angel Beats! is being produced from the same group who made Air, Kanon and Clannad; It's pretty easy to tell with the character design, the Opening theme, and the mix of comedy and touchy-feely plot.

The episodes seem to follow a basic design: comedy in the first half, plot in the second half. I love this mixture. I'm betting on the series ending with a bittersweet ending, if the Ending song is any indication.

K-on!! (K-on! season 2) is somehow getting cuter with every episode. So.. if you're not into slice of life, plotless series, you probably won't like K-on.

There seems to be less focus on the band aspect of the series, at least in the first five episodes. Instead, we see how much fun the girls have during school, and on field trips. The girls are also working on getting new members for the Light Music Club, so that Azusa isn't alone when they graduate.

The Opening song, while annoying at first, has sort of grown on me. The Ending song, on the other hand, seems to be a pretty solid song. Not as great as Don't Say Lazy (from the first season), but still enjoyable to listen to.

So yeah, I'm enjoying these two series. They might not be masterpieces, but they've made me laugh.

I'm following Angel Beats!, K-On! I've been meaning to watch. Really like the character design in Angel Beats and the fact that they added catchy J-Pop/J-Rock in the episodes. While the comical parts really did make me laugh, I do hope some more plot shows up soon. It has potential.

Edit: Here, catchy J-Rock. :D

Cool, favourited :D

I'll have to take a look at their other songs, just been trying to catch up with anime (I've been away from my PC for about a week).

The wait between episodes for Bakemonogatari blows. Smiley: frown
I'll have to rewatch the series so I remember what happened, lol.

I'm incredibly picky with what I watch. If I don't even like the design one bit, I'll probably just never glance at it again (despite a bazillion people telling me it's awesome). I'll give Bakemonogotari a check later.

According to a friend 'Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou' is pretty good, too. It's at episode 6 as of today.

I forgot episode 6 of Angel Beats! was airing today. This one was packed with plot, and more Tachibana.

I'll have to check out that Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou, it's worth at least watching the first episode, since it has Mio's (from K-on!) voice actor in it.

I'm the same way.

It drives my friends crazy, because I'm apparently missing out on some awesome series. I know Cowboy Bebop is supposed to be one of the best series, but I just can't get past the first episode.

I know it's not really the best idea to judge a series on the first episode, but I don't see myself caring too much about Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou.

It just seems like another fan-service filled harem, where the main character is also avoiding death in every episode. That, and I don't really like the animation style, it seems.. cheap?

Just watched the first episode now. It's not half-bad, but it seems to suffer from the same thing Needless suffers from, constant jokes with terribad timing.

Wasn't that the entire point of Needless?

I'd suggest you wait 'till the last episode comes out, but if the conspiracy nuts are right we'll all be dead by then.

I'm such a wuss, I nearly cried this episode of Angel Beats! I really, really enjoy this series. It's both comical and touching.

Yeah, I really liked episode 10.

If you're enjoying Angel Beats!, and haven't seen Kanon or Clannad, you're missing out on similar story-telling and comedic elements.

But if I've seen Kanon (and really liked it) but not the others, I should look those up? :)

Wow, that was a pretty epic episode 12 for Angel Beats!

I got a little teary-eyed when Yuri's siblings told her she'd done enough.

I'm wondering what the last episode is going to be about :o

Oh, and K-on!! is a cute as ever. I just wish they had more concerts/live shows with new songs in 'em.

Wow. Awesome Angel Beats. Chill went down my spine when she mentioned that humans won't even wait for 10 minutes. Shame it's ending next week, but maybe that's what'll keep the show great.

That was a pretty good finale for Angel Beats!. I love when series find away to wrap up the story with very little loose ends.

I was genuinely surprised at the fact that Kanade had gotten Otonashi's heart transplant, but it made for a very touching moment.

Overall, Angel Beats! is one of my favourite series, among shows like Haibane Renmei, Clannad, and Toradora

Apparently K-on has another 13 episodes to go. Looks like I have to wait another 3 months before I can watch it.

Finally got around to watching Angel Beats. I was very pleased with it, from start to end. The way it wrapped itself up was enough for me to be happy with the ending, and the after credits thing even more so. Definitely a baww-worthy series, and they even managed to do it with plenty of action and blood. Definitely a recommend to anyone I know.

Bumping this because I started Angel Beats! last night and am enjoying it a lot. Got through the 1st 8 episodes last night, and of course it was the first episode to end on a cliffhanger. >:(

I liked Air, just not quite as much as Kanon and Clannad. I don't remember why I only gave it a 7 on MAL, so maybe I'll rewatch it sometime.

Oh, and K-on!! only has 4 episodes left to go. I almost got teary-eyed near the end of ep 21 (iirc), heh.
