I didn't realize they were making another Predator movie, but they are. Here's a sneak peak.

Fanboyness aside- it looks like it could be decent. A screenplay by Robert Rodriguez with Adrian Brody & Lawrence Fishburne starring...

Thoughts?

The last movie that came out on my birthday and I saw that day did extremely well (PotC: Black Pearl), so I'm definitely supporting this movie by taking the day off to see it.

Wonder if Neo can save him this time!

Actually it looks neat. I remember when I was a kid and watching the 1st Predator movie, I thought they were such bad asses and there was no way Governator was going to win.
I didn't pick up on it in the clip, but does this take place on Earth? I'd love to see a movie done on their home planet.

It appears to be a "neutral" planet. Anyhoo, while Predator remains a classic, it's sequels aren't great. There's a great AvP graphic novel made from a script that was rejected before Alien 3, that had Ripley crash on a planet where Predators were hunting Aliens.

It was neat.

But I must say, for what it was, AvP 2 amused me.

The first one is such a classic. I still get amped when I watch the scene where Arnie lights the bonfire and does his "Come get it" Primal roar. So many great lines in that movie too. One of our tanks in WoW used to have a "I ain't got time to bleed" macro.

This one looks ok, only time will tell but you can never recapture the magic of an original that was so perfect.

They made a variation of this script into a book for the Predator series called "Forever Midnight" in which Earth colonizes a planet that turns out to be a Predator hunting preserve. The Predators had been seeding the planet with humans from different time periods in Earth's history, and the survivors that the new colonists run into are funnily enough descended from the passengers of an European colony ship.

Am I wrong in thinking that Carrot Top looks scarier than Iron Mike in that picture?

Carrot Top is an odd looking man to begin with. So I agree

This wasn't great, but was much better than the AvP line. It's much more like the original Predator, just don't go seeing because of Lawrence Fishburne, as he isn't in it long.

Yeah, but he was the better actor out of the group. Topher Grace was trying too much to play evil Peter Parker in his role. Kind of upset that Rodriguez wrote out Danny Trejo's character so soon.
