True. And I'm wondering why we think she should have to go back in time to kill herself, anyway... She can do that just fine without going back in time. Smiley: laugh

I guess I wasn't clear. She goes back in time entirely so that she can spend more time with Yuki and so that he can in some way survive. She doesn't go back in time to kill herself, she kills her former self out of convenience, because if two Yunos were discovered then people would figure out her intentions much faster.

No, I think you were clear. It was mostly me that formed that theory that didn't make sense. :)

Next chapter is up, although apparently Onemanga isn't technically hosting the series any more and it instead directs you to their "sister site", 1000Manga. At least Onemanga still notified me of the new release. Anyway, link is here if you don't want to go through like 4 extra clicks from OM: http://www.1000manga.com/Mirai_Nikki/53/01/

Again, a chapter that basically tells us what we all guessed. I'm really curious what Muru Muru is up to now. I'm thinking she wants them both to ACTUALLY go through with the Lover's Suicide idea so she can take over when no one else is left.

54 is up.

Took you 54 chapters to realize that did it? Also, big surprise on the 9th.

Good chapter. I wonder if we'll ever be able to actually finish this series though :(.

*Reads chapter 54*

Well it seems like things are wrapping up. They've only got about 20 minutes left.

*Reads chapter 55*

56 is out.

A little late for it, but Yuno gets even more character development. Perhaps only because she's recently been trying to kill him, but Yuno can't accept Yuki or her own feelings. It also seems like her father may not have been as horrible as we were led to believe, because he didn't seem to react to her strangely after seeing her out of her cage. It would be great if all of Yuno's suffering was her own fault, and every external event was merely a lie she created to remain cognitively dissociated with the contradiction. Yuno would be truly crazy then.

I think this is exactly it, haha. Or just her mother abused her. It makes me wonder if her dad was just gone often or... what?

Probably. I do like the way the story is progressing though. Keeps things interesting.

I'll admit I was a bit worried when the second, er, third? game started, but it looks like it should end soon. And Yuno has kept surprising me and really keeps things fresh.

A pilot episode is scheduled to be released in December (was September and then was pushed back). I don't believe an adaption will be very successful though. Drama is an important element in Mirai Nikki's story, and much of that is conveyed still panels of very specific facial expressions and the difference in pace that panels provide over animation.

ITT: Allegory continues his manga > animation theory.

No. I was just pointing out that I don't believe Mirai Nikki as written is setup to translate well into an anime because of properties inherent to the way it was written. Just like House of Leaves wouldn't make a very good audio book.

Hm. I didn't think it looked bad. The music was horrible, though...

Chapter 57 is out. Yuno broke the seal - obviously she's a lousy drinker.

Interesting trap Yukki's in.

I'm still not sure how this is going to end. Still very enjoyable to read though.

The second to last page was pretty awesome, even with Yukiteru's goofy shorts and knee socks combo! Smiley: grin
