I've been watching and waiting for Cencoroll ever since viewing the trailer. Today I saw it. I liked it, and would like to see the style explored more.
Cencoroll's story is very simple and underdeveloped, and most of the details you're supposed to extrapolate for yourself. The story isn't a very noteworthy part of the film. What I mostly enjoyed might be called the visual style, but more broadly a conceptual style. It's originality that is shaped to look like familiar genres and art, but isn't. It's something a little new and with subtlety. IT's the kind of cohesive vision that is made possible by lone wolf projects.
