Here are some recommendations for you DKZ
Stuff similar to what you've seen before:
Code Geass - High on action and a fast paced plot.
Eureka Seven - Shounen plot that is partially deconstructed. More mecha and action.
Claymore - Dark fantasy, plenty of action.
Akagi - based on a manga by the same author of Kaiji, which I saw you liked. Akagi is Kaiji if Kaiji were badass. Akagi is set primarily in the world of mahjong gambling.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - You liked FMA, so you'll probably like FMA that follows the manga plot. The beginning might be tedious to work back through, but it picks up once you get into new materiel.
Stuff different than what you've seen before:
Spice and Wolf (and the sequel) - A drama and romance series primarily about economics? They make it work.
Baccano! - A small amount of action, slightly dark story, and complex narrative element.
Juuni Kokuki - It starts weak, appearing to be a cliche action fantasy starring a girl, but it becomes much more.
Kemonozume - If the unique art style doesn't bother you, then you're in a for a gritty and surreal love story.
Escaflowne - A very early attempt at blending shounen and shoujo themes; Escaflowne is a fantasy mecha. Because it was originally planned to be aroudn 52 episodes and then later curtailed the story feels much more dense and epic. Dilandau is one of my favorite anime characters.
I broke the list into two groups because I usually like to give people options to expand their retinue and explore new genres. The top list are shows that you will almost certainly like. The bottom list contains shows that will offer something new to your palette, but you might find it distasteful (though I tried to pick ones you had a good chance of enjoying).

I started Gurren Lagann last week. It's... interesting.
Accept that it has its own style and shoves it down your throat. Accept it like a man.
