Murderball was a 2005 movie, so it's nothing new, but not being one of the major blockbusters it can be easily missed. It is a documentary of the U.S. paralympic wheelchair rugby team. It may be a documentary, but it didn't feel like that aspect limited its accessibility. From start to finish the movie pull you in with a set of real events that play out very similar to a contrived story. Many of the documented individuals have very strong and distinct personalities to such extremes that its hard for fictional characters to even compare. Because of the amount of footage recorded there is very little narration. You get less still images and footage with voice over narration describing the events and more footage of events actually occurring. I'm not sure exactly whym but I found it very difficult to not be emotionally invested in the people involved towards the end of the film.

I think the accessibility of this documentary allows it to be the kind of film most anyone can appreciate, so if you're tired of the typical genres you view, then give it a go.
