Has anyone else seen this anime series (or atleast the parts that are out right now)?

Each episode is in the 30min+ range; I just got done Episode 1 (50mins), I think 6 are subbed at the moment.

It's a very well done show, nice art (realistic), great music. I especially like the end theme.

It seemed confusing at first, but I was almost instantly hooked.
Give it a shot Smiley: thumbsup

I kinda felt like I forgot something last night Smiley: lol

I'm not too sure yet, but so far, it seems to be an action/drama, with a bit of suspense mixed in.

It's hard to describe the anime without giving away spoilers. The main character, Shiki, can see spirits in the living world, and has the ability to see specific points in living/dead creatures that cause instant death if stabbed.

The first episode seems to be a small group of three investigating the reason for 4 girls jumping off a famous building to their deaths.

This is the story about a girl who unwillingly obtains the ability to see "death lines" - the seams of life - in all creation. Her name is Ryogi Shiki. In the beginning, she accepts the state imposed on her indifferently. However, the moment she questions her life, she ironically falls into a coma for two years.

When she comes to, she finds that the world had changed… Or rather, the change is in herself. So, wielding a shining knife, hunting monsters living on the borders of the normal and abnormal worlds becomes her only purpose to live… All the while knowing that there is someone keeping an eye on her.

Not really a fight scene, since the ghosties don't fight back.

I haven't watched Tsukihime, so I'm not sure how many similarities the two series have, if at all.

Weird... so in this show, the main character Shiki is a female.

In Tsukihime it's a male, also named Shiki. Same abilities...

Well it's supposed to be revealed later, that Shiki used to have two personalities. One male, SHIKI, and one female, Shiki, before she fell into a coma.

I never watched Tsukihime all the way through. (I worked with a group fansubbing it as an editor, but either I left partway through or it got Licensed halfway through, I can't remember which).

So the two stories may be related?

I just finished watching episodes 2-6. I rated each episode 10/10 on my anime list.

I'm gonna need to rewatch Episode 5, there are some things I still don't get. Overall, very well done series.

Oh, and there's zombies. Sort of.

It seems that Tsukihime and this show have the same author. And while not directly related, are similar.

Finished the 7 movie series, easily one of the best I've seen. It might even be my favorite.
Here's some epic fight music.

It's actually Type-Moons first original work (non-game). They started out doing doujin works and eventually published a series of novels called Kara no Kyoukai. Later they eventually became mainstream as a large producer basing Tsukihime off of KnK and creating the Fate/ series, although I am glad they did a much better job of this show than their other anime adaptations. It is easily their best work in my opinion and one of my favourite series it's too bad it's over now. Well I guess all thats left now is to wait for Shiki to be the third copy pasta Shiki in Melty Blood Actress Again.

For those that have seen both and played the Tsukihime game... it this anime done better than the Tsukihime one was? I liked that anime, but while visually pleasing, it just didn't have the levels of awesome that the game has (though I only played Arc's route)... kinda like how the Fate Stay/Night anime was a big jumble of plot sections from multiple possible plotlines and jsut turned out to not be as good as it could have been...

Well, that was basically the best anime I've seen since flcl. I need to watch ep 7 but really

As near as I can tell the chronological order of episodes is something like..

2,4,3,1,5,6

however, the presentation of the sequence out of a linear order works well for the narrative, much as in pulp fiction, or 100 years of solitude

Also, I've been informed that Yuki Kaijura is the composer for the music. I know her from xenosaga 2 and 3 (1 was yasunori mitsuda.) The music is ludicrously reminiscent, and kaijura always had a talent for making good tracks for moments of extreme tension and cinematics, and fits the story quite well.
