An actual quote from my roommate while we were watching anime this morning. I felt it would be a good thread title for talking about the anime we were watching. Trust me, it fits the show pretty well.

What show? Godannar. I've only seen the first disc, but it gives you everything that trailer promises and more. And it plays them all as a stereotypical old school style Super Robot show, complete with old school Super Robot opening theme song. You know the ones. It's all at once cheesy yet awesome.

So, anyone else seen this one?

Probably the same thing with photoshopped or heavily made up actresses. Most first world countries, where food is plentiful, tend to idealize the thin figure. Large breasts are considered attractive in most every culture, but the Japanese tend to have a thinner physique and so large breasts are therefore more prominent.

Why would you ask about this and not the pink and purple hair?

They've become desensitized to that, maybe?

I know that for the first couple episodes of Maria-sama ga Miteru, I kept freaking out and yelling "WHY THE HELL IS EVERYONE'S HAIR NATURAL COLORS?! I CAN'T TELL THE DAMN CHARACTERS APART EXCEPT YUMI!"

Even the oversized chests are pretty meh as far as things go. They're everywhere. Big deal. That being said, I mean, JESUS CHRIST THAT'S A HUGE CHIN!

Because one is anatomically awkward while the other is possible through hair dye?

Okay I"m sorry. What is first "volume?" I hope it's not "episode." It it means something like 20 episodes though, that doesn't seem all that compilicated.

Looks interesting.

BTW, I find it amusing that you commented on the huge chin when you've got the king of huge chins in your current avatar lolgaxe.

(Just noticed that was posted several days ago, so it might not have been the case then... anyway, I'm talking about Superman.)

The first volume is the first disc of the series. I want to say 5 episodes. Could be 6 or 4, but I really think it was 5.

Greatest. Chin. Actor. Ever.

Since it was brought up, yeah I realize Supes has quite the chin, but most Western comics have large square chin muscle men. Eastern ones have more pointed and smaller chins, so seeing this one is definitely unique. I wonder if this guy's chin can take on Alex Louis Armstrong's.
