So I quit watching Sci-Fi for awhile and tonight I just found out they rolled another series out. And I am honestly loving it. I just finished watching the two hour premiere and wow. This is like a cross between Battlestar Gallactica with the crazy scientist guy and Stargate Atlantis. The characters in this show are great. I can't really put this into words how addicted to the show I am now. Apparently there are 7 episodes out and I'm probably going to spend the next 4 hours watching the rest up until the current episode. If anyone has watched House M.D., Amber the blonde chick who dates Wilson is one of the characters in this show. I'm ecstatic.
Anyways, for your convenience I am going to link all the episodes for you. Well for now I'll list the two I've watched. You can probably figure out how to watch the others on the same site but here it is, this site is safe. Been using it for a year or so.

The programme is beyond abysmal. The heroic sacrifice early on, sealing the ship, was horribly contrived and still managed to make **** all sense. Whoever is writing this takes to scriptwriting like an ice swan to molten lava.

Yea, IMO it just feels like a very weak, half-assed knockoff attempt of Battlestar Galactica. I found it amusing how all the previews showed Lou Diamond Phillips as a main character and he's not even there on the ship. Who in their right mind would watch anything just for Lou Diamond Phillips. I don't know what to say about that one. And yeah the plot is kind of out there but I think that's what they were trying to do with the show. MacGuyver obviously doesn't play a main character but he's been in the first 3 episodes briefly. But it's not bad for what it's worth. I mean I could go off on how Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings and hundreds of other movies don't follow the book too. It's common knowledge movies are tailored for the majority of viewers to make money and that is what they do. However. I never read the Harry Potter books or the Lord of the Rings books until after I have watched the movies. Didn't mean to start a debate or anything just wanted to point it out. Is it the wrong forum though? I thought this was OOT. Nevermind. I didn't see the Cross Site with the TV forums. Hopefully a mod will move this for me soon. I'll PM one just in case. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

I'm just saying it was misleading, presumably showing a somewhat known name as in the main cast then having it turn out to be a full cast of no-name nobodies.
Oh, and MacGuyver quit the original show when he did to spend more time with his family. I seem to recall that from an interview I either saw or read about.

I'm sorry, but you really have no idea what you're talking about. The difference between how LotR "didn't follow the books" is WAY different from how Legend of the Seeker "didn't follow the books". The former was mostly necessary changes that come about when you adapt a book into a movie. The latter was as though someone read the Cliff's Notes, no, read them is the wrong way of saying it. The latter is like someone skimmed through the Cliff's Notes while on the toilet, fished a **** out of the toilet bowl and turned that **** into a series.

I'll have a peek at the new series. I like to have some yummy fluff on a semi occasional-regular basis.
It's reminding me of the original movie, which I still love. It has a spare elegance about it, for a sci-fi-action. Probably the graphics will be really creaky by today's standards. But I really adored the performance of James Spader and the baddy. They were both so charismatic in weird ways.

That being said, so far it is a pretty horrible show. I'm hoping it gets better but right now, it's like they were like, ok we got them on the ship what now? And the result was, run out of things, and then conveniently land on planets that can help you, but only just. When they run out of things like that, maybe we'll get interesting stories. maybe.

Well from the point of view of going into it wanting a lot of action right off the bat I can see it being horrible. However, I am pretty sure the writers are trying to establish a small background for everyone that's on the ship. The first 6 episodes were clearly just that. I will have to side with you if in the next 4 episodes nothing big happens. However I am sure Anderson, Tapping; and the older cast members from various shows have some sort of small part in voicing opinions if certain episodes become complete ****. But so far no bias on my part. I'll update my opinion in the next 4 weeks though.
I checked on the site, you can watch all 6 episodes of this season on the Sci-fi Website. Probably slightly better quality than Stagevu.com, not sure.
