Or Hell Girl. Has anyone watched it?

Some time ago, I watched the first season. They were mostly ok, but one episode really put me off. It was one of the later ones, where a completely kind, innocent nurse went to hell just because some deranged creep used Hell Girl to do it. That particular episode left me all pissed off. I kept telling myself that it is just a cartoon and in real life nice, kind people like that don't just get sent to hell because someone wants her to (I hope). Still, it left a very bad taste in my mouth and I stopped watching after finishing the first season.
Now however, I'm thinking if I should watch the next season. What I want to ask is whether there are any episodes in the next season like the above episode. Because I would not watch it if there were!

I've seen all three seasons. The answer to your question is yes. Jigoku Shoujo is rather constant in its presentation throughout all three seasons. What you do and do not like about seasons one will be what you do and do not like about seasons two and three.
It took me some time to realize it, but I enjoyed the series much more after I did. Hopefully this will help you to. Hell isn't where bad people go in the world of Jigoku Shoujo. Jigoku Shoujo doesn't send people who have wronged others to hell. Jigoku Shoujo sends people who are hated to hell. Jigoku Shoujo is a show about why people hate.
Often times people hate for very legitimate reasons. They send someone to hell who stole their boyfriend, killed their pet, or bullied them. Sometimes both people are monsters. Sometimes both are fairly innocent. Sometimes bad people send good people to hell. The only requirement to access th hell line is to hate, and so the only requirement to be sent to hell is to be hated. right and wrong, just and unjust, none of that matters.

I've been meaning to check this one out. Sounds even more interesting now.
You should be warned Poldaran, because it initially turned me off. The series is almost entirely episodic and at the same time can be highly repetitive. If you can get passed that, then it can be enjoyable.

That is the one major problem with this series. It's incredibly repetitive. The characters and reasons for things vary and it's interesting to watch all the different people with their various different reasons for doing things, but in general it's the same exact formula in every episode. I'd recommend taking it in small doses or you will most likely get burned out on it very quickly.

I'll keep that in mind. Karlina's advice to take it in small doses will work out well for me as I get most of my anime through Netflix, which means that I can only watch a few episodes at a time before I have to go through the horror that is "Short Wait", which means I rarely get two discs from the same series in the same week.
Don't get me wrong, once I realized it was about why people hate other people and not just people going to hell, I enjoyed the hell out of it (no pun intended), but I'd have probably enjoyed it a little more if the three series' plots were spread out through the entirety of their 26 episode runs instead of the last three. The endings always seemed kind of rushed.

That is entirely the point. You don't have to do something wrong to be hated. You could be prancing down teh street and someone could decide they hate your hat, boom, Jigoku Shoujo time. A strong theme throughout Jigoku Shoujo (heck, it's explicitly stated), is inevitability and how the characters are unable to prevent people from sending others to hell. the victims--the ones being sent to hell--are powerless against the hate of others. Nothing you do or do not do will affect whether you go to hell or not, it is only what others feel or do not feel towards you.
What is sad isn't that innocent people are sent to hell; what is sad is that everyone is powerless to stop it.
To further destroy any sense of justice, there is no positive outcome in any of Jigoku shoujo's cursings. Even when someone who was horrendously bullied "rightfully" sends their oppressor to hell, the sender is still cursed and destined to fall to hell eventually. No one wins. It is self destructive behavior.

i have watched it and yeah it's really interesting..
but after watching 20 episodes i was like "ok i guess

I finally got in the first disc. It was excellent but definitely could see how the repetition would get annoying if I tried to watch too many episodes at once. Getting a disc every couple weeks from Netflix seems like it's gonna be perfect.
