I just saw this movie last night, I don't know if anyone else has but it is one heck of a confusing and very brutal movie. Apart from the hard **** scenes (not all that many, although there are a lot of sex scenes in the movie) and the torture scene, there's a rather disturbing story line too.
So he killed his wife because he knew she was torturing their son (by putting on his shoes the wrong way all the time for instance) and because he knew she saw him jump and did nothing to stop him. At least, that's what I make of it anyway, the entire movie is the woman's grief for destroying what she loved and the desire to do it again, with her husband. I just wonder if the husband knew from the start that his wife watched their son jump to his death or if it came to him after he realised she was torturing him?
There were the three creatures he encountered, the three 'beggars' I believe they represented, at first the deer with the failed birth, then the fox that attacked itself and then the crow which wouldn't die and led him finally to the wrench to free himself. Were they just parts of his own madness?
A very visual movie, not really for the weak of heart, the opening scenes alone are enough to determine for a lot of people whether or not they're going to see it to the end or not. (imo anyway)
It all felt a bit David Lynchesque at times though, very focused and heavy music which really influenced the scenes.
All in all a very heavy movie but not a bad one, imo anyway.
