Did anyone catch the preview episode of this show a few months ago? I saw it, loved it, and can't WAIT for it to begin again in September.

Anyone who was at ComicCon wanna give us spoilers on the second episode, which they aired there?

As a former drama kid, I am curious about this show, despite my love/hate relationship with Disney/ABC/ABC Family.

I just wanted to watch it because the previews had them singing one of the best Journey songs of all time (no matter how mainstream it is now) Smiley: tongue.

It's a FOX show, not ABC.

That cover was absolutely awesome, even better than the original IMO. They replaced the keyboard line at the beginning with a chorus part that just really, really worked.

It's available on Itunes, btw. Or YouTube.

Even better! Hmm... not sure why I was thinking it was an ABC show.

Probably because it's a concept that is sorta cashing in on the High School Musical franchise (albeit in what will almost certainly be a rather warped way, if one can trust Ryan Murphy, creator and producer of Nip/Tuck, to remain true to form) which is a Disney thing.

Having now seen the second episode, I can already tell I'm going to have to frequently do the same thing I did with Ryan Murphy's other show, Nip/Tuck, which is remind myself that it's high farce, and not meant to be taken too literally.

I love it.

Yeah, I've really enjoyed it too. Although before this show I thought Glee Club was just another term for drama club. My school never had one, so I didn't know lol. The show is a bit predictable, but it's enjoyable to watch nonetheless.

It's about 70% humor and 30% really awkward. I like it Smiley: smile.

2nd episode seems to be up @ FOX.COM.

(I thought it looked stupid, watched w/GF, kinda liked it.)

I like the description of the show on fox.com "It's as though High School Musical got punched in the stomach and had its lunch money stolen."

But then, I'm a choir geek from way, WAY back. Couldn't stand High School Musical, however, because I have, y'know, a functioning brain. But combine a show about choir geeks with Ryan Murphy's warped sense of farce, and I'm totally there.

It's actually not the 2nd episode, despite it's description as "episode two".

Episode one is the Pilot (Or, "Director's Cut", while "episode two" is the pilot with 3 less minutes of show).

Someone is going to start a club devoted to that show. And then we will be forced to end civilization. Bastards.

Best part of this week's episode:

"99 Luft(sp?) Balloons" being on the list of parent-approved songs. Apparently family-friendly songs include those about the start of nuclear armageddon.

I adore Ryan Murphy's sense of irony.

It's as though Ryan Murphy reviewed my adolescence and decided to write a farce loosely based upon the community I spent my teenage years in and the people I went to high school with. Kinda eerie in a way.

Best line of last night's episode: "You're going to have a high school full of Nancies unless you put some hard wood in their hands." lmao

Oh, this show is full of double entendre. Last week's "I just had a facial!" had me rofl.

Glee has been picked up for a full season by FOX. Very unlikely we'll see it get canceled prematurely now.

Was at Itunes today and noticed two new songs by the Glee cast that haven't appeared on the show yet, including an absolutely phenomenal, better-than-the-original cover of Queen's "Somebody To Love" that I suspect will turn out to be the glee club's competition piece.

I like the show... don't love it but I like it... but the show slows down for me considerably during the musical parts. I think because the lip-synching is so God awful that it really pulls me out.

That's my only beef with it. I wish they made more of an effort to make the musical numbers sound less like they were recorded in a completely different environment than the dialogue, which I know is a product of them being more heavily "touched up" at the sound board than the dialogue. But the rest of the show is so marvelous I'm able to overcome that objection.

"I'm cutting your dry-cleaning budget to get costumes for the glee club. Sue! The dry-cleaners here are just as good as the ones in Europe!"

"I want my full operating budget restored...I need a fog machine."

"If you ***** this up for me, I'm going to shove my fist so far down your throat you'll taste my armpit hairs!"

"I'm going to ask you to smell your armpits. That's the smell of failure, and it's stinking up my office. I'm revoking your tanning privileges for the rest of the season."

Good stuff.

Yeah, they could maybe use to lay off the AutoTune just a touch. Or maybe twenty touches.

For those who watched it last night: who do you think won the mashup contest? You can listen to the clips on youtube here:

Guy's Mashup: It's My Life/Confessions, Part II
Girl's Mashup: Halo/Walking on Sunshine.

Here's the video of the guys, although it will likely be taken down soonish. This is the girl's, although the sound quality sucks.

My personal opinion? The girl's video was better, but the guy's mashup blows the girls' out of the water. And if you haven't seen the video, the reason they seem so hyper is because Will's wife becomes the nurse and gives them all over-the-counter pep pills.

Edit: Also loved how different Confessions sounded (in a good way). And Artie's voice is freaking awesome!

The guys won, hand's down. And Artie is the bomb. His line "We're planning on smacking them down like the hand of God" made me LOL.

Hey Joph, is it just me or are they getting a bit better with the lip sync/Autotune issues? The past couple weeks I haven't been noticing it as much, so either I'm getting used to it, or they're improving.
