ABC has a remake of the scifi series "V" on their fall lineup. Color me stoked.

I see lots of familiar faces. Scott Wolf, and I couldn't get a great glimpse of him, but I'm reasonably certain that the tall, bald hunk of African-American gorgeousness is D. B. Woodside, aka Principal Robin Wood from the seventh season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

However, IMDB has got NOTHING on this. What's up with that?

omgomgomgomgomgomgomg!!!!

I've seen the original movie/mini-series at least a dozen times. The series was a bit cheesy, yet still enjoyable. Trailer looks pretty awesome. Thanks for the heads up.

Hopefully ABC doesn't try to put it in a competing time slot with Fringe.

I don't know, i'm not a fan of remaking old tv shows. I'd rather they make a new series with the same themes than remake V. Most of sci-fi remakes are pretty horrible, and the ones that aren't remake the originals heavily.

Two words:

Battlestar Galactica

Yeah, it had some iffy moments in the third and fourth seasons, but I think that was largely due to the fact that the production team just didn't have the staying power to maintain the standards they set early on. The first two seasons, however, were some of the best and most brilliant television I've ever seen.

Meh, tbh it probably could have not had the battlestar name and done well. I don't like series cashing in on older shows and then being totally alien in tone to what they were-i'd just rather have them ditch that and make a unique series.

With V i watched it as a kid, and it was pretty memorable then. Its a part of its time, I really don't want to see it transplanted to this age. Call it the "transformers" complex-some things should be left to the originals.

Also false, it's Morris Chestnut.

What was your search criteria?

When I did a search for "V" two days ago, nothing more recent than 2003 came up. Looks like it's newly added (since the first entry in the message board section is four days ago) and somehow hasn't made it to their search engine yet, at least not under "V" alone. I just did another search and the results were the same, nothing there when I search just for the letter V.

Well, like I said, I couldn't get a good glimpse of him and since I couldn't find an IMDB entry, the cast list was a bit of a blank.

Either way, he still looks all kinds of yummy.

And FYI, the whole "false" thing makes you come across as a jerk, even if you don't mean it that way. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, and even then it still rankles.

I watched the trailer you linked, recognized some actors in it, looked at their IMDB profile and voila...found the IMDB page. Took me 15-30 seconds tops.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! omg I loved "V" when I was growing up. I bought the DVD but of course it lacks much.

I remember Diana and her blond companion (was she olivia?) oh and Elizabeth - then the less intelligent lizard version of her...

Good news! thank you

Other than Scott Wolf (whose name I couldn't immediately remember) and the person who I *thought* was D.B. Woodside, I didn't know the names of any of the actors. And I expected a show called "V" would come up when you search for, y'know, "V". It didn't. Who knew?

I don't know which work came first, but did they both have to use the same letter as their trademark?

I see "V" and I keep imagining Hugo Weaving with a Guy Fawkes mask, tossing knives at cops in bullet-time while being overly poetic about it.

The comic book's title is actually V for Vendetta, whereas the miniseries about aliens is just called V.

The real confusion comes when you read the novel V, by Thomas Pynchon, which has nothing to do with either of those. The only real similarity is that both Moore's comic and Pynchon's book, ironically, use the repeating imagery of the letter/number V throughout the narrative to induce a sense of paranoia.
