Ok, I need your help; I'm trying to remember a few movies I've seen when I was a kid but the only thing that sticks in my mind is a certain scene/plot from each one. I'm gonna list the scenes I remember and if you recognize that movie please let me know what it is.

  • Movie One: A kid is sold to a troll/goblin? by his mother in exchange for external beauty as long as she never comes in contact with the child again. The creature forces the boy to help him with his smithing work but he gives the kid a chance for freedom. If the kid can kill the creature the boy is free to go; however, the creature can not be harmed by normal weapons and any that are used against him break.

Years go by and as the boy grows into a man he finds pieces of a strange sword hidden in his master's home; the man forges the pieces back into a sword and slays the creature with it. Now free the man travels and in one town he finds a drunk ***** who immediately tries to hit on him. Suddenly recognition appears in her eyes as the woman realizes that the man is her son that she gave up long ago. Instantly she turns into an old crone and dies in her son's arms.

I can't remember if there was anymore to the plot then that.

  • Movie Two: A woman is taking a shower in her home while her husband is somewhere else in the house; the camera then focuses on the bathroom door locking itself then moves to the kitchen. The burner on the gas stove in the kitchen ignites itself and starts to raise it's own temperature. As this happens the woman notices that the shower water was starting to get hotter and tries to turn off the water. Unfortunately the water remained on so she tried to leave the bathroom; the now locked door refuses to open and the shower head actually turns to continue spraying her with the scalding hot water. She starts screaming and her husband runs to the bathroom; unable to open it he kicks in the door and pulls out his wife who is now covered in 3rd degree burns. As soon as they get out of the bathroom the shower and stove both turn themselves back off.

  • There was a third movie but as I was typing this it disappeared from my mind. So if you know either of these movies please tell me the name. Thanks.

#2 sound familiar. But nothing is coming to mind...

The 1st sparked a movie I've been trying to find..so maybe someone can help me too..

It would be an old movie, as I was probably 5 or 6 when I saw it (and I'm 23 now).
It is a adventure movie and it uses puppets/claymation.
All I can remember is that a Human man (in his teens/early 20s) is on a quest. On his quest he meets some odd creatures that go with him.

The one creature stuck in my head looked like (bare with me here): His body was round, and he walked on his Hands. He was a brown/dark red color.

The movie was kind of dark (they were not Jim Henson puppets), and I want to say made between 1960-80s.

Movies I know it is not:
    Labyrinth
    Dark Crystal
    Legend
    Original- Jason and the Argonauts

The whole quest thing sounds like "Willow"; however, the creature you described reminded me of the little guy from the movie "Flight of the Navigator" which looked like this.

That second movie reminds me a bit of The Entity, but not sure to be honest.

I've never heard of that first movie.

Thanks, I'll try to find that movie and see if it is the one I remember. As for Willow I've never seen it myself, I was just going on the '80s adventure movie with creatures.

I remember Willow; it isn't it.
And the other one I've never seen, but it looks to "new" for the style.

All I remember is the "claymation" was about as good/if not a bit better then what was used in the Original Jason and the Argonauts.
I'm also pretty sure it took place on a different "planet" w/ no actual ties to the Human being from Earth.

Here is a youtube vid with all of the creatures Harryhausen created, see if you spot any other monsters that you might remember from the movie.

the only thing i can think of is light years, but its not puppets, just regular animation. Your best bet if its an animated film is the forums at th ebig cartoon database: http://forum.bcdb.com/forum/Questions_About_Toons_C17/

You can ask about mystery cartoons, and if they cant identify it, no one can.

I checked out The Entity and it wasn't the movie I remember, but it was still a good movie to watch.

Ah well, at least no time wasted then :D

You could try the IMDB forums, there's the 'I want to know' board, I've found some fast answers to very vague questions.
