Have You Ever Cried While Watching Anime?Follow

I decided to create this because I ended up watching, and marathoning, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (Rumbling Hearts) today, and anyone who has watched it will know what I'm talking about. I'm a guy and while romance/drama is not my usual cup of tea, I will honestly admit that this is the first time I have ever openly wept not once, but twice during the final episode of an anime (or anything).

So has anyone else shed a tear or three while watching anime?

I kinda felt bad, but then I thought "Well, at least he got to **** her first..."

Literally, the saddest & most depressing movie I've ever seen.

Synopsis:

During the fire bombing of WWII Japan, a tween brother & young sister lose their mom to the bombings. Their father having all ready died, I forget, or dies fighting in the war.

The children become homeless.

They find a place to camp out.

The sister dies.

The boy dies.

The end.

I don't cry over things like that (happy or sad.) Never have. Not movies, shows, books, nothing.

yeah, at the end of the love hina christmas special. Don't want to go into spoilers, but it's really the true ending of love hina to me.

You never read the manga did you? Love Hina has a real ending. The anime just ignored it.

How to do this without spoilers?

When the little girl was crying over....?

There was also the disappearance of that one guy by the misplaced freckle. I dare anyone to figure that out without direct context.

Of course I never cry, but the ending credits of Now and Then, Here and There creates a feeling of heaviness approximately located near the stomach. I consider the entire series to be the most depressing anime.

Oh wow. I haven't thought about Now and Then, Here and There in ages. I should rewatch it at some point. It was awesome.

That reminds me, I need to watch that whole series again. It has been years now. I can't believe it.

Edit: Yea, and FMA came to mind for me when I think of getting emotional over anime. I just cannot remember why. So I really do need to see it all over again.

You should totally link the long distance commercials that made you cry.



I've cried during anime, but often it's tied to music playing at just the right time with just the right action going on. Like most of the times that damn song would play on Trigun.



Also, it's not Anime exactly, but I've cried while watching particularly heartwarming moments in some western cartoons, like the ending of the Christmas special on Static Shock.

i read all the manga, it got stupid when kanako was introduced. The "real" ending was pointless and anticlimatic. If granny hinata knew already, why all the hassle? To me, the christmas special was the real ending, because it showed naru making up her mind and admitting her feelings openly, with none of the endless back and forth. I mean, naru knew how many volumes of the manga before the ending from mutsumi?

I like akamatsu..i have all the love hina and negima volumes, some of the a.i. love you. I even watched mao-chan. But he can be an utter idiot in terms of pacing and plot, and love hina went on way too long after all the questions were answered. That's why love hina again sucked so hard.
