I finally got around to seeing Gran Torino last night. I thought it was very, very good. It's somewhat bittersweet for me, because Clint Eastwood is one of my favorite people, and this could very well be his last film. I think I had read that he said it would be his last starring acting role.

Eastwood is great in it, and really is the epitome of a crotchety, racist old man. Some of the Hmong performances are good, while others are a bit lacking, as can happen when you have large-scale casts of inexperienced actors. I thought that it was certainly worthy of at least one Oscar nomination, though with the strength of the field it might not have deserved to win.

I liked the movie. It reminded me of my Roomate. He's a 3 tour vetran of Nam and has done most of what Clint did in the movie to the punks (Gang) in my hood.
They soon left us alone. But that was sfter crap just like the movie.
