Hi
I hope I'm not completely wrong since this forum is labeled "TV, Movies, Anime & Books" but music isn't too far away from these subjects (I hope) so I will ask my question here.
Does anyone know good Doom/Gothic Metal Bands that are in style and quality similar to Draconian?
I tried Doom:VS and some Funeral Doom bands but they lacked the certain melodic aspect I like so much about Draconian.
Bands like Sirenia and Tristania on the other hand are just too jazzy (I hope that's the word, meaning too trendy, too close to commercial sh't like Within Temptation) for my taste.
Any help would be appreciated. Spent the last two hours on Youtube searching and not finding anything really good.

Basically, you're not going to find much that's worth listening to and not very commercial. Those kind of bands are so few and far between, they generally get to be decently known, like WT.

My search was successful. Thought I share my findings for the chance that someone here doesn't know the following bands and enjoys this kind of music.
Agalloch - Combining elements of Doom Metal and Folk with Black Metal vocals. Not really hard enough to be Metal, more the type of music I can listen to while totally relaxing. Agalloch - Fire Above, Ice Below
Electric Wizard - More Stoner Metal than Doom. If you like Black Sabbath and/or getting high while listening to heavy musik this might just be the thing for you. Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
Swallow The Sun - Slow and very dark Doom Metal. Great growls and nice atmosphere. Swallow The Sun - The Morning Never Came

Then why do you even bother with this thread? Since this boards are not infested with the common internet diseases and people here are actually nice to each other most of the time you won't get far with this kind of behaviour.
