Cana wasn't about to let Erza overshadow her.

You clicked a button just for a generic "It's Over 9000" joke. Hang your head in shame.

I'm pretty annoyed with the Fairy Tail fanfiction community. All the little teeny boppers want to pair Lucy up with Gray. Or Loke. And Natsu up with Erza or Lisanna (although the latter has a basis in canon.) It's like they're reading a different manga from me. Smiley: disappointed

Fanfiction is latin for bad writing.

Bleach: Something about a guitar.
Naruto: Still Sasuke being an emo git. I can't wait until the story gets back to focusing on the main character.
One Piece: That's the problem with Green Slimes, they get everywhere.

Fairy Tail: Actually, nothing we didn't already know. Ivan's guild, Raven Tail, was purpose built to get revenge on Makarov. I'm not sure Laxus can handle all five of them at once, though. Also, Evergreen is going to be teased for the rest of her life about Elfman at this rate.

I doubt that. After Elfman, Erza, and Cana, Laxus isn't about to let them overshadow him. I'm sure it'll be a chapter or three worth, but he'll probably end up on top and get Raven Tail disqualified from the whole tournament, which will in turn be the catalyst to move us away from the tournament storyline into whatever the shadow agenda is.

So the Captains in Bleach are tactically retarded apparently. Why would you have all your most powerful fighters, knowing full well they can be powered down, all use their ability all at once? That's stupid on so many levels that I'm not even going to spoiler it. Would have been much smarter to just send out a sacrificial lamb, like Renji, instead of ... all of my rage, I swear.

Over on One Piece, looks like the Big Bad wasn't the Big Bad afterall.

I honestly had to read this week's bleach twice to make sure I hadn't just misread it due to grogginess of having just gotten up. Seriously, they spent 2 years training to be able to handle aizen-esque situations, and that's their tactical choice? Smiley: banghead

I can see their logic though: if nobody can use a bankai anymore, then bankai basically ceases to exist, therefore the enemy can no longer seal anything. Flawless. Good job. Gotei 13 stratagems unparalleled.

So Im guessing the reason Ichigo is going to be the big badass this arc. Everyone elses Bankai's are an attack, Ichigo's is more Internal, like Byakuya, when he saw Ichigo's bankai for the first time was "Thats not a real bankai". Meh more Ichi-sue. As for the tactical bankai, well duh, how else would we get to see the 'lackeys' power (aka Ichigo's friends). It's a reverse of Hecto Mundo, this time its going to be them saving the captains, probably.

Bleach: A little overreaction on my behalf, I guess, but still tactically stupid for the more powerful characters to put themselves (and therefore their subordinates) on the line like that. On side note, Kurotsuchi really is the smartest person in the manga when he called everyone idiots, though it's a lot like saying he's the smartest brick in the wall.

Naruto: Sasuke is saved by the healing power of incenstual yaoi.

Nah, he's still going to try to attack Konoha, else we wouldn't have the final Sasuka/Naruto fight. I don't expect his goals to really change, despite how nonsensical they may be. This, however, seems like the last time we're going to see Itachi.

I realized while I'm hating Bleach so much lately. There hasn't been a new character I've liked since the Hueco Mundo arc. I don't give a **** about any of these new characters. And they're beating up the old characters I liked.

What I'm hating on Bleach is unless this arc somehow ties back to it, Wheres our back story on Ichigo's dad, how does Ishada's dad tie into it. I mean, it's looking like an aborted arc. Also did Kon just get taken out of the story completely? I mean I have lots of other little questions but those 2 are the only thing I can think of.

New Shaman King Flowers is up.

Also in Bleach did they do more of Kenpachi's backstory yet? If not I'm willing to bet that he is the manifested form of the zanpakuto that he carries around. That's why it won't respond to him, he's literally talking to himself.

I want to enjoy Shaman King Flowers because I liked Shaman King, but it's so slow and early in the story that it's frustrating. Also, it'd be funny if Kenpachi was Yachiru's sword.

Bleach: Something was almost revealed, but Kisuke quickly made sure that didn't happen.

Naruto: D'aww.

One Piece: Is that a hamburger on Welgo's face?

Hasn't it been pretty thoroughly established that kenpachi is pretty much just a psychopathic bloodknight with a sharp stick? I thought he was supposed to be the "badass normal" of the captains or something. Though I won't deny with Kubo, ANYTHING's **** possible...

Bleach: It's forgivable, because this is the first time in **** forever that Kisuke actually used his **** sword's abilities.

Naruto: D'awwww + confirming that the real Madara is the Aizen of the Naruto Universe. If the first hokage was actually as strong as they're making him out to be, given that he was stronger than madara, how the flying **** did hiruzen (third hokage) not get completely facerolled? C'mon Kishimoto, your **** is angst and wangst, not punching plot canyons into your own story, that's something we expect from kubo. I am disappoint.

One Piece: Kinemon is apparently pretty **** badass Smiley: lol This is how this week's One Piece played out for me, because the rest of it didn't matter:
Kinemon: "Why don't I just kill it with fire?"
*reader remembers fire makes them go boom, and looks on with amusement/horror*
*Kinemon lights one on fire and they go boom*
*after boom, everyone's still standing and gawking*
Sanji/Brook: "Wait, didn't we all just get blown the **** up?"
Kinemon: "Oh, yea, the explosion surprised me, but I cut it in half, so we lived."
Simultaneous reaction of Sanji, Brook, and the reader: "You can cut explosions!? Wtf!?"
Kinemon: "There isn't any fire-"
*Kinemon puts on his sunglasses*
Kinemon: "-that I can't cut."
YYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I think the main difference here is that Orochimaru had resurrected the hokages without giving them access to their memories/spirits/whatever. Kabuto just didn't bother with that bit, maybe because he summoned so many at once, maybe because he knew Madara wasn't going to unsummon himself because he knows that Madara is apparently a giant drippy prickbag.

They had enough memory to have a quick conversation with Hiruzen, and the only way it would explain how they didn't completely faceroll with how powerful the first was, that I can think of, would be hiruzen being about 10x stronger than he let on, which, while I won't deny, would feel kind of cheap at this point, given how long he's been dead, unless we get to see him go **** in his prime at some point.

I'm afraid to even think about what that might imply, and I'm not even a fan of jellal. Sure, his magic is pretty badass, but Mystogan (to differentiate between the two, since they're both technically Jellal) is a great deal more badass in my eyes, since, you know, he had no actual magic power, himself, just his staves. Totally saw the draw coming, but I agree with your assessment. I can also totally see those two 10-15 years older, going at it again for **** and giggles, and it being akin to what one would imagine Erza vs Mira Jane would be like, or even more. Also, sasuke? wat?

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

meehhhhh, generic anime hair to me.

That said, whoever's in charge of writing fairy tail's current filler arc (anime) knows what they're doing. They're not even trying to be serious most of the time, it's basically "Here's Fairy Tail being badass, and lots of comedy, as an apology while we wait for the current manga arc to end, but we'll string it together into a story just because we can."

**** love the jiggle **** gang Smiley: laugh

You are so boring now. Smiley: frown It was probably Zeref or however you spell his name anyway.

As far as this week is concerned -

Naruto: Nothing happened

Bleach: Nothing happened. It was like a review episode.

One Piece: Nothing happened, big bad introduced as Don Quioxete who's name I forget how to spell and don't want to go through the chapter again to find just to correct.

Reboot of Kenshin though, kind of a questionable quality translation. I imagine it's because of the live action movie coming out and they want to cash in / introduce the characters beforehand. Also, the Binbougami Ga anime should come out sometime today, so between that and new comic books it'll be a pretty good day.

We're working our way through the Fairy Tail anime, and we were on our second drinks when we hit the start of the Edolas arc last night. It was like an acid trip.

Then we watched the first episode of Utakoi. I know a fair bit about the Heian, and "loosely interpreted" is a polite way of saying "modernized." The characters personalities and the outfits are probably correct, but the standard of beauty in the Heian dictated that ladies have shaved eyebrows and gray teeth. And some characters have blonde hair. Smiley: lol

One Piece: So it turns out that it was a grilled burger attached to his face, and he's been walking around without wiping it off. And he's one of the Vice Admirals. Smiley: oyvey

Just call him Don Flamingo like everyone else, it's easier that way.

Oh hush and check your time stamps before you reply: Jun 29 2012 at 10:25 PM. I'm not capable of coherent thought between the hours of 7am and 12pm, unless I have a medical appointment of some sort. That said, while I AM capable of seeing the resemblance now, I just see it as Mashima trolling everyone who recognizes the hair. He's a cool guy like that.

As for my views on this week's chapters: what lolgaxe said. I'm hoping Toriko, Fairy Tail, Gamaran, and Kenichi don't let me down, too.

edit: argh, dramatic-suspense-before-a-big-fight chapters... Smiley: motz
edit 2: argh, dramatic-suspense-before-a-big-fight chapters... Smiley: motz

Fairy Tail: Yajima saves Jellal's ass, except not. Also, theyah ain't no partay like a fairy tail partay, 'cuz a fairy tail partay don't stop- breakin' **** Also Elfman and Evergreen.... wow, that is a coupling I NEVER would have expected (you know, if not for all of the massive foreshadowing during the tenroujima arc) and still seems a little weird... kind of like the bizarre relationship that seems to be blossoming between levy and gajeel. Mashima, you love to troll shippers, don't you... As a non-shipper, I find this thoroughly amusing. Natsu/Lucy/Lisanna is all sorts of ambiguous, Gray/Juvia/Lyon is a dozen different shades of one sided (which is pretty funny for a triangle), Jellal and Erza have their apocalyptic romance thing, and Alzaak and Bisca went from being the will-they-won't-they couple to "oh hey, btw, we're married and have a kid." To me, this is how romance should be done. There's no logic to it, it doesn't sound like a romance story, and it's **** funny. Smiley: laugh

Fairy TailWell, Evergreen/Elfman has gone from hints to practically canon. Jellal got off - this time. We're getting the weird Levy narration thing going on again, indicating that Lucy's probably going to go missing in the near future. And, OH SNAP it's almost 7/7... Has Yukina joined the army? Was she a double agent all along?

Spoiler fail.

Mavis d'aww.

Edit: Oh, and I caught up to Fairy Tail anime. I'm not sure what makes the Jiggle **** Gang funnier. Their own antics, or how both Erza and Wendy go along with it. I'm going with the Erza/Wendy thing. Overall not bad for a filler arc.

Yea, I'm kind of being cautious in anticipation for next week. Whenever levy starts narrating, you know something's about to go down, **** will hit the fan, etc.

I think it's a combination of the two, but regardless, I'm pretty impressed by this, especially since it's fairy tail's first real filler ARC (they've had 1-3 episode filler stories, but that's not an arc.)

Also this is the 1000th post in this thread, so therefor I win some sort of prize, right?
