My bet: Aizen absorbed Ichigo from the inside.
What probably happened: He's just sleepy and everything is okay until the next Big Bad.

Could be hollow Ichigo having a go? Might be time to give Aizen a rest now.

I assumed something more along these lines. Afterall, we haven't seen him since the battle with Ulqiorra.

Well, is Aizen going to break out of his prison early or will we have another villain to take his place? Will Ichigo's powers magically return?

Or is Bleach ending? haha fat chance

tune in next week to find out!

Two week hiatus...

Overall, this sucks. Yamamoto lost his left arm and still is the strongest shinigami...? Good thing he beat Aizen up the way he did or SS would all be doomed! Ukitake is fine after having a big hole in his chest? Gin, one of the coolest and most interesting characters is dead...? Ichigo lost his rather cool looking long hair and didn't even get so much as a THANK YOU for saving all of Soul Society?

I wasn't taking Bleach 'that' seriously, but this is silly.

They're gonna go MGS and find out that one of Gin's arms is compatible with Yamamoto's body and graft it on as a replacement. Then Aizen's personality, which was implanted in Gin as backup plan #249231, starts to take over Yamamoto ala Liquid Ocelot.

Okay. Thanks, MGS was on my 'to play' list.

That'd be somewhat cool plottwist, though...

Don't worry, I haven't spoiled the storyline for you.

His hair GREW shorter? Really? Okay, he (albeit temporarily) lost his powers. Buy why would it have to go into that? Is it a sly shout out to Goku's hair growing as he got more powerful, and shrinking as he powered down? I'd hate to admit it, but I hope that's what it is.

Also: Every character is alive except the one interesting one? Hiyori was TORN IN HALF and even she managed to survive, yet Gin not? Granted, I bet he'll come back as well, but ... ugh. Also: Hollow #10, who's name escapes me at the moment, wasn't completely obliterated when fighting both Kenpachi and Byakuya?

I hate when chapters end with so many questions, and none of them are actually about the storyline.

I just hope they give his powers back a more interesting way then Orihime "rejecting" it or his father transferring powers over..

Maybe they can kill Ichigo, and then he'll be able to become a full fledged shinigami in a few thousand years.

Nah, Yamamoto knows Ichigo's power and skill which would guarantee him at least a third seat position already and Yoruichi would probably flash train him back up to full strength.

And, surprise surprise, the new arc starts. It does kind of make sense that Ichigo wasn't the only representative. There wouldn't be badges if there wasn't pre-established reasons, right? Or the Knock Out Glove Rukia used to use. I admit, I am a little interested.

Other than that, I'm interested in the new arc, but I just don't entirely get that part of the story.

Why is it the "Lost" Shinigami Representative Badge arc though? =/

Presumably because it was lost before or Ichigo loses it now? It must have some kind of meaning, and since no Shinigami barring Ukitake had ever heard of it before, it must not be all that common either.

So, that's why when I read the chapter originally I thought he had taken Ichigo's... especially after the talk about how it was useless to Ichigo now. But I don't know when or how that would have happened.

They're not the same, Ichigo's shows signs of cracking, new guy's doesn't. Unless Kubo isn't that careful with details, but I doubt that.

Ichigo's
New guy's

Seems like a fillerish arc to buy time for planning the next big villain. There's a good chance the most development we'll see here is Ichigo regaining powers.

I'm hoping we get some much needed character development here and maybe some explanations from Hecto mundo that they never really delved into. Why are Chads powers similar to a hollows, why did he get them? Orahime also. Why do Ichigos dad and Ishada's Dad know each other. Why is his dad in our world, ETC.

Honestly I'm sort of happy Kubo reset Ichigo, none of the other characters were relevant anymore. I don't think Ichigo is going to get back his full powers this time, I think hes gonna be stronger/ as strong as Tier 0 but everyone else will be right behind him in power. Maybe.

I think i read an interview that there was 2 more arcs before Bleach would end, I might be off though.

Chad's grandfather is probably the same as Isshin Kurosaki: came to the world of the living, fell in love with a human woman, got help/gigai from Kisuke Urahara, fathered children, etc. Chad is essentially Ichigo, but from the other end of the spirit power spectrum.

Ichigo and Uryu's fathers probably met the same way as their kids did, they seem to have the same type of relationship. Orihime is probably the descendant of one of the Soul Society's royal family, hence the ability to alter reality.

That's my view on their origins.

I sincerely doubt we'll ever find out or if we do, if it's been something like that. Keep in mind their powers were already explained by Aizen. They've been around the Hougyoku and Ichigo's massive reiatsu for a longer period of time. If Kubo would add specific reasons, every character with some amount of spiritual pressure would need a remotely interesting backstory, it's not happening.

Something that hit me this morning, one of the very early aspects of shinigami was their cleansing/purifying human or hollow souls. Okay, makes sense. Quincy, however, just killed any hollow and therefore had no chance to cleanse their spirits. This has now been shoved aside because the Shinigami in Karakura is unreliable and an idiot, which means any hollow loses his chance at a second attempt in Soul Society... That doesn't sound like something that should just go down very well with the cast.

Wouldn't necessarily need an interesting back-story. Others from soul society and elsewhere throughout the ages have occasionally fallen in love with humans and produced offspring, resulting in their bloodline(albeit diluted) passing on through their descendant, awakened by the unnatural amount of reiatsu radiating from Ichigo.

Done.

I'm pretty sure Kubo just forgot about the purification aspect.

I just want a story arc, even if its part of a subplot, about Kenpachi and his sword. A little more on Chad's and Orihime's powers would be interesting as well.
