I think it works like this:

Cutting someone once inserts him into their past. Cutting a second time reverses that.

I think it worked a bit differently for Ginjo. He probably knew Tsukiwhatever before he was cut, and by being cut, that removed Tsuki from Ginjo's past. When he was cut a second time, Tsuki was re-inserted, so it's the way things originally were.

It's pretty confusing, but think of it like multiplying by -1 in math.

The need for that kind of simile just shows how ridiculous this is.

Not actually change personalities. So now it can change personalities if hit twice? Or what?

I'm with Allegory on this: Kube is actively writing in ways to make sure things don't make sense.

More like, Tsukishima hit Ginjo the first time to change how Ginjo perceived Tsukishima from ally to enemy. There may have also been conversations with Tsukishima that were messed with so that Ginjo doesn't "remember" the real reason why they want Ichigo all trained up. Then the second hit was the undo button.

I seriously doubt the other Fullbringers were actually hit by Tsukishima. Just Ichigo's friends. The other Fullbringers are just better at pretending to be genuine than Ginjo.

It may also be that Ichigo's Fullbring is not compatible with getting absorbed by anyone other than Ginjo, and that's why the others are so ambivalent about him.

Yea, that's what I thought too. Glad we're on the same level of confusion.

Ok, now that that's out of the way, what the **** is going on with Ginjo's sword at the end? Does he have a badge, and that was his? Or was that Ichigo's?

I know we were shown a badge besides Ichigo's at the beginning of the arc, but I have no idea if that was Ginjo or not.

Ginjo is using the badge that you saw him reveal he had near the beginning of the arc to do something to the sword. Ichigo's badge turned into part of his sword, and there hasn't been anything showing it reverting back to badge form from the sword form yet.

I suppose it would be very unlikely that all that has happened is still part of the plan to restore the shinigami powers? It would be rather stupid if suddenly Ginjo goes "hey, you're not dead, this is still training"?

If I had to guess I'd say he wants Ichigo's powers for himself.

I find it strange that lolgaxe is fairly good with his predictions in bleach, because while I recognize the standard shounen events, a lot of it just seems like random ********* I get the feeling lolgaxe's familiarity with western comics is helping a lot here.

To me it seems like any of you could be right.

It's kind of annoying, though. I mean, on paper you'd think that one writer, working on one enclosed world that has no cross-over with any other manga world, could keep his/her story straight and have a definitive direction to go in. Kubo doesn't have to worry about giving Ichigo a power that would somehow mess with Naruto's story when he teams up with the Elric brothers*. It's all self contained. In western comics there are hundreds of writers working within a "single world," or whatever you want to call the all encompassing reality they have. Not only that, but the same writers don't work on the same characters and are switched out constantly ( for better or for worse, though usually worse), a lot of which barely have more knowledge of the character's they're now writing for than what's available on Wikipedia. So yeah, things go all over the place and you just have to look for the smallest detail from ten chapters/books back and extrapolate the craziest thing you can. I still stand by my prediction from the last page. That Ginjo is somehow related to Aizen, whether a clone or real, and is going to be related in his reintroduction. Though, I'll revise it to add the possibility of Tsukishiima being that plot point.

So in theory Bleach shouldn't be pulling random ******** like it does, unless Kubo is using different writers who get their information from the Wiki ... which doesn't sound so far fetched.

* Yes, comic books really are just elaborate official fanfiction. I realized that a long long time ago.

Quite a bit of it is pretty predictable, honestly...

I mean, Ginjo just SCREAMED "bad guy" so much that all those chapters spent stressing how much of a good guy he was seemed phony...especially once the audience finds out that Ichigo's Fullbring is his substitute Shinigami badge and there's NO explanation for Ginjo's cracked substitute Shinigami badge. Like watching a farmer raise a pig for slaughter.

It could be that I'm just obtuse. A more flattering explanation is that that I just assume anything that seems out of place is bad writing and not foreshadowing.

I'd like to see the explanation for this in the next like twelve chapters, because as it stands it looks like they just made the last several months of "plot" irrelevant. As it is, Rukia could have just stabbed the power back into him without the ridiculous amount of "training."

Either way, I like her new haircut.

I've read lots of bad fanfics with this same plot, to be sure. Smiley: laugh

So yeah, Ichigo's friends all think he's betraying them. I think it's time for a certain gaggle of shinigami to rally to his side and help him out right about now.

I was always under the impression this would be a filler arc to buy time for the next major storyline, and that Ichigo would be "reset" with no major changes to his powers.

Honestly, I don't know how you guys can read through Bleach (and Naruto) and just so easily call some of these "plot" twists. I've been reading the manga now for... I don't even remember anymore (oh my god has it really been that long..?) after getting frustrated sitting through filler episodes and outside of the extremely obvious like "I'm tired, battered and weak, let's end this in a single blow [insert main character name here]" I have yet to really not be surprised by half the crap Kubo pulls in Bleach. To be quite honest, I thought this arc was pretty interesting and I contiue to believe so even if Ginjo is now the bad guy and Tsukishima's power is retractable. Although in retrospect after reading through that total mess from beginning to end with Aizen this still reads 10X better.

I don't normally post on here, matter fact this is probably my first post in this thread but I couldn't help but just say it... that is all.

Pretty sure we all feel the same as you; some of us just like to believe, much like a beaten wife, that Kubo will suddenly mend his ways and be the gentle mangaka that we all used to love.

"Plot Slowly Moving to the Left instead of Going Straight Ahead" would probably work better for what happens in Bleach, but too wordy.

I guess this is another way of having Ichigo fight himself.

Over/under on there actually being a fight here vs Ichigo just beating them all down so we can move on to the actual bad guys?

Makes posting more fun. Smiley: grin

This weeks episode: Rukia still has a cute haircut. Kubo must have been like "Hey, if the explanation worked in the first chapter, it'll work now!" I mean, it's almost literally the same thing. The whole "lol I'm stronger now because fuck you" is just a slap in the face. Aside, by my count he's now human, shinigami, hollow, visored, and fullbringese. Maybe arrancar mixed in there. I figure the only reason he isn't Bount only because that was filler. His ancestors were whores.
Vataro wrote:

I give it 1:1 odds that Ginjo has already fallen over, and Tsukiwhatever will only be a fight because of Bigtits Orihime, but still won't last more than the next chapter.

That's all I have to say about this chapter.
