I'm pretty annoyed with the Fairy Tail fanfiction community. All the little teeny boppers want to pair Lucy up with Gray. Or Loke. And Natsu up with Erza or Lisanna (although the latter has a basis in canon.) It's like they're reading a different manga from me.

So the Captains in Bleach are tactically retarded apparently. Why would you have all your most powerful fighters, knowing full well they can be powered down, all use their ability all at once? I honestly had to read this week's bleach twice to make sure I hadn't just misread it due to grogginess of having just gotten up. Seriously, they spent 2 years training to be able to handle aizen-esque situations, and that's their tactical choice?

So Im guessing the reason Ichigo is going to be the big badass this arc. Everyone elses Bankai's are an attack, Ichigo's is more Internal, like Byakuya, when he saw Ichigo's bankai for the first time was "Thats not a real bankai". Meh more Ichi-sue. As for the tactical bankai, well duh, how else would we get to see the 'lackeys' power (aka Ichigo's friends). I realized while I'm hating Bleach so much lately. There hasn't been a new character I've liked since the Hueco Mundo arc. I don't give a sh*t about any of these new characters. And they're beating up the old characters I liked.

What I'm hating on Bleach is unless this arc somehow ties back to it, Wheres our back story on Ichigo's dad, how does Ishada's dad tie into it. I mean, it's looking like an aborted arc. Also did Kon just get taken out of the story completely? I mean I have lots of other little questions but those 2 are the only thing I can think of.
I hated Kon, so no qualms about him being gone. I do want to know about Ichigo's dad though, especially when that @#%^ing mini arc hinted at it.

I want to enjoy Shaman King Flowers because I liked Shaman King, but it's so slow and early in the story that it's frustrating. Also, it'd be funny if Kenpachi was Yachiru's sword.

Hasn't it been pretty thoroughly established that kenpachi is pretty much just a psychopathic bloodknight with a sharp stick? I thought he was supposed to be the "badass normal" of the captains or something. Though I won't deny with Kubo, ANYTHING's @#%^ing possible...

If the first hokage was actually as strong as they're making him out to be, given that he was stronger than madara, how the flying @#%^ did hiruzen (third hokage) not get completely facerolled? And also, Madara just punched a massive @#%^ing hole in orochimaru's use of the first two hokages; "If you know how this jutsu works, you can release yourself from it", second hokage invented it, so... er.... what. it doesn't really matter that orochimaru was probably stronger than kabuto, or that he only had 2 as opposed to however many dozens/hundreds kabuto had, 1st was @#%^ing Jesus and 2nd was the crazy bastard who invented the move, you'd think they'd be able to resist and completely ass@#%^ orochimaru

I think the main difference here is that Orochimaru had resurrected the hokages without giving them access to their memories/spirits/whatever. They had enough memory to have a quick conversation with Hiruzen, and the only way it would explain how they didn't completely faceroll with how powerful the first was, that I can think of, would be hiruzen being about 10x stronger than he let on, which, while I won't deny, would feel kind of cheap at this point, given how long he's been dead, unless we get to see him go apesh*t in his prime at some point.

I'm afraid to even think about what that might imply, and I'm not even a fan of jellal. Sure, his magic is pretty badass, but Mystogan (to differentiate between the two, since they're both technically Jellal) is a great deal more badass in my eyes, since, you know, he had no actual magic power, himself, just his staves. I was sad when he got parallel-universed away for good

Totally saw the draw coming, but I agree with your assessment. I can also totally see those two 10-15 years older, going at it again for sh*ts and giggles, and it being akin to what one would imagine Erza vs Mira Jane would be like, or even more. Also, sasuke? wat?

That said, whoever's in charge of writing fairy tail's current filler arc (anime) knows what they're doing. They're not even trying to be serious most of the time, it's basically "Here's Fairy Tail being badass, and lots of comedy, as an apology while we wait for the current manga arc to end, but we'll string it together into a story just because we can."

Reboot of Kenshin though, kind of a questionable quality translation. I imagine it's because of the live action movie coming out and they want to cash in / introduce the characters beforehand. Also, the Binbougami Ga anime should come out sometime today, so between that and new comic books it'll be a pretty good day.

We're working our way through the Fairy Tail anime, and we were on our second drinks when we hit the start of the Edolas arc last night. It was like an acid trip.
Then we watched the first episode of Utakoi. I know a fair bit about the Heian, and "loosely interpreted" is a polite way of saying "modernized." The characters personalities and the outfits are probably correct, but the standard of beauty in the Heian dictated that ladies have shaved eyebrows and gray teeth. And some characters have blonde hair.

Oh hush and check your time stamps before you reply: Jun 29 2012 at 10:25 PM. I'm not capable of coherent thought between the hours of 7am and 12pm, unless I have a medical appointment of some sort. That said, while I AM capable of seeing the resemblance now, I just see it as Mashima trolling everyone who recognizes the hair. He's a cool guy like that.
As for my views on this week's chapters: what lolgaxe said. I'm hoping

Fairy Tail: Yajima saves Jellal's ass, except not. Also, theyah ain't no partay like a fairy tail partay, 'cuz a fairy tail partay don't stop- breakin' sh*t! Also Elfman and Evergreen.... wow, that is a coupling I NEVER would have expected (you know, if not for all of the massive foreshadowing during the tenroujima arc) and still seems a little weird... kind of like the bizarre relationship that seems to be blossoming between levy and gajeel. Mashima, you love to troll shippers, don't you... As a non-shipper, I find this thoroughly amusing. Natsu/Lucy/Lisanna is all sorts of ambiguous, Gray/Juvia/Lyon is a dozen different shades of one sided (which is pretty funny for a triangle), Jellal and Erza have their apocalyptic romance thing, and Alzaak and Bisca went from being the will-they-won't-they couple to "oh hey, btw, we're married and have a kid." To me, this is how romance should be done. There's no logic to it, it doesn't sound like a romance story, and it's @#%^ing funny.

We're getting the weird Levy narration thing going on again, indicating that Lucy's probably going to go missing in the near future. And, OH SNAP it's almost 7/7... Has Yukina joined the army? I think it's a combination of the two, but regardless, I'm pretty impressed by this, especially since it's fairy tail's first real filler ARC (they've had 1-3 episode filler stories, but that's not an arc.)
