Anime in 2009: What's to come?Follow

Aside from the remastered DBZ, what other series are getting released into the US or getting aired in Japan that you're looking forward to seeing?

I'm crossing my fingers for The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (as it stands, all updates pertaining to it have also disappeared), and desperately wishing for another season of Earl & Fairy (which was cut tragically short at 12 episodes for no reason in its first season.)

Stateside, I'm waiting for the next Twelve Kingdoms novel, which is coming out in English in March. Hell, I buy light novels for series I don't even like, sort of as a means of atonement for leaching anime all these years, and because translators are really freaking expensive, and I want to encourage the publishers to release more.

I've been waiting for the ANN spring preview guide to hit. Hopefully it will it will contain as many new gems as Spring 2008.

Ponyo on a Cliff should be hitting dvds some time in 2009, which means rips will be available, though I'd prefer to see it in a theater. Rebuild of Evangelion 3.0 should be showing in 2009 as well. Black Lagoon Season 3, Spice & Wolf season 2, and Full metal alchemist relaunch may not all see 2009 launch, but I can hope.

Several anime series that began airing previously have either finished or are close enough to finishing that I can start watching: Toradora, Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae, and Casshern Sins.

I'm looking forward to Full Metal Alchemist season 2, Hayate no Gotoku season 2, and hopefully Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu season 2. I'll probably download a few episodes from the other anime being released but those three are the main ones I'm looking forward to. I just hope I don't end up finding another series like Higurashi.

I thought the series ended with "Conqueror of Shambala".

They're basically going to animate the manga in FMA that wasn't finished when they originally animated the series.

The only series I'm watching at the moment is Beck, as it's free On Demand.

& Still reading Gantz & Bleach.

I'm waiting for more 20th Century Boys manga to be released...

I remember when it first got licensed, and the group I worked with stopped "scanlating" (We were moral fansubbers/scanlators).

And then the english commercial release was delayed for some reason. (Something to do with Naoki Urasawa's wishes about the novel Monster and the anime... something about getting more of a fanbase in America prior to release.)

With no sources of english versions, I stopped reading it. Now there's a sequel labeled 21st Century Boys, and I'm so far behind! Smiley: mad

Edit:
Awesome Song.

As far as I know, if the anime continues at all it will be until April as the writer of D.Gray Man is ill. The manga is on hiatus so we won't be seeing any new anime episodes until she gets better and writes more manga chapters.
