When I was young (long time ago) I remember being very fond of Enid Blyton books - I lived in Canada at the time and they were readily available. Now that my kids are reading age, I had hoped to introduce them to series like "The Five Find-Outers" and "The Secret Seven". To my dismay they are hard to find in the US. I can get some books from Amazon but unfortunately our local library doesn't carry any.

I'm just wondering if others enjoyed her work as much as I did, and if you can recommend some good young detective series that are easy to find (other than Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys).

I used to love Enid Blyton . Now that I've got a daughter getting up to reading age, I've started buying all the books again, as they're pretty classic . Can't help much with detective series though - you've named all the ones I used to read .

If you haven't read her Magic Faraway-tree series, or Wishing-chair series, you are missing out. I loved Noddy, too, when I was younger.
