I think that Watership Down, The Plague Dogs, The Catcher in the Rye, the Eragon series, and the Pendragon books are some of my favorite books.

There's "Carrion Comfort" by Simmons, "The Shining" and "The Stand" by King, "Great book of Amber" by Zelazny, "Lyonesse", "Chronicles of Cadwal" and "Tschai" by Vance, "Weaveworld" by Barker, "The Forever War" by Haldeman, "Dune" by Frank Herbert.

There are more on my favourite list, but these are really at the top of it.

Robin Hobb's books are wonderful She has 4 trilogies out, 3 of which make up a longer series. I'm also a Lonesome Dove series fan, by Larry McMurtry. Currently "reading" George R. R. Martin's series, via audio books on my mp3 player, since my bus ride to classes are an hour each way. Oddly enough, I'm in Library school, but don't have a lot of time to read for myself since .. well, I'm busy playing console games and WoW. >.>
