Renting The End of Evangelion from Blockbuster. It was teh first time I had seen anything that wasn't via KidsWB or some other broadcast network, and it was the first time I had seen an anime knowing what it was. Still, I was quite confused.

Come to think of it, I did have a couple VHS tapes of DBZ well before I got Slayers, but iirc I got those as an xmas present so they don't count as my purchase Smiley: tongue.

Ah man, this brings back memories...
Geez, had to be at least nine years or so ago... from BestBuy on VHS...
Magic Knight Rayearth
Think the box art caught my attention and the story seemed like it'd be quite entertaining for a fantasy "magical girl" series.
Looking back... meh, it really wasn't that bad. :)

One of the Trigun DVDs, I think. All my Love Hina I found for free; same with Negima, Crono Crusade, Fushigi Yuugi, Star Ocean DX, and Yakitate Japan (I think that was on Youtube!). I also bought a single DVD of Ai Yori Aoshi, but that was a while later, I think.

Wasn't a "Purchase". This was back when I was younger I was a huge Pokemon fan. I had seen the first movie with some siblings a couple Months before... I had this coupon stuck to the fridge with a magnet ready to buy the movie on VHS. It was supposed to be released sometime the next week and I was waiting somewhat anxiously.
Anyhow, I was watching TV and suddenly "The First 6 callers that call in will win 2 copies of Pokemon the First Movie on VHS!" so I scrambled to the phone frantically dialing trying to get through. Alas, I was unable to get through. So, I gave up and continued watching TV. Then my mom handed me the phone and I heard "Congratulations! You have just won!" I totally spazzed and was like YAY YAY YAY. The lady on the phone thought I was crazy. The next day I went and got my prize a week earlier than it was supposed to be released in fact. Thank you mom. :)
