Yes.

The Tower and the Hive came out in 1999 so it shouldn't be hard to find.

They reissued it in 2007 as well.

Have you read the crystal singer, ship who sang, and Freedom's choice series as well?

I acknowledge that she's a good writer, but I could never get through a whole McCaffrey book. Not sure why.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I have all of the Freedom series, I'm working on getting a hold of the tower and hive series. Was the crystal singer really that good? I've not read it yet and frankly from reviews hadn't planned on it.

Killashandra is pretty good, not overly keen on the other two, but there not brilliant but there not Timothy Zane bad.

:/ I just picked up some Pern books after like 6 years or so of them gathering dust on my shelf. I used to love them and now McCaffrey's "idiosyncratic" style of writing is really grating on me. Depressing. I hate when books you used to love lose their appeal.

Read a lot of her books, but not all the Talent series, i think the last i read of that particular one was Damia... but very good i really will have to catch up and get the rest some time..
the Crystal Singer trilogy was really good, one of her best i think, brought a few tears to my eyes in parts to be honest. ... and Restoree.. if you like her books you would probably like the Warprize series.. can't remember the authors name. but really good :D

Freedom series is good, was surprise when I read it that she did do solid Sci Fi and not only the fantasy. Have to check out this Hive series, getting tired of Dr Who books ...
