Does anyone have a problem with reading 2 books at once?
I was doing my History final today and ended a hour early. Ya, History is my subject. And I went to grab my book The Last Templar when I noticed I forgot it in my room. So I picked up The Fellowship of the Ring on the shelf, since I have yet to read the LOTR trilogy. I know, it's sad. I noticed at about 50 pages through I couldn't read 2 books at once I'd get confused and such. So I started doodling.
Does it bother anyone else?

I have never been able to read 2 books at once and retain anything of follow the storys.
Funny, in school I could follow 2 text books plus and keep it together......I guess I like to keep my off time um complicated.

Sometimes, I'll be in the middle of a book and I'll be at Barnes and Noble or Borders and I'll pick up a new book. If I get home and really want to start my new book, I'll read it before I go back to the old one. I don't usually have a problem with that at all.
I know some people who like to read both fiction and non-fiction at the same time. They're always reading two books, and it just depends on what mood they're in as to which they pick up.

I tend to mix a whole load of books, especially when some aren't all that interesting but I do want to finish them.
Longest it took me to finish one book is pretty much over a decade and I've read scores of others before I did finish it.

None at all, each of my brain cells is capable of holding the story line seperate from the other.
I do this all the time. It's not that difficult for me to keep the plots and characters separate in my mind.
why bother when I can just read them back to back in the same period of time?

I don't. Only time I stop reading one book for another,is if the first book fails to hold my attention. Otherwise, I finish one book, then go quickly to the next/
I guess I just borked my whole topic. I am reading three at once. THREE.
Never really had an issue reading multiple books at a time...I have a horrible habit of putting my book down and forgetting where I put it..then I start another book..then I find the book I was reading initially...and repeat.

I usually finish a book too soon to start reading another one in the meantime, unless the first book is really long or boring.
But I dont find it very difficult to switch between them, or even read (watch movies) with many interruptions.

This, but not usually in the same genre. I usually have 3 or 4 books going because I may not be in the mood for one or the other at a given moment and will want to read non fiction or sci-fi or Jane Austen or whatever. Obviously I don't have a big problem with confusing story lines in Neuromancer and Sense and Sensibility...though that sounds like a pretty great story.

I am actually reading 3 different books at once. I do it alot. I am reading 3 different series with 3 totally different story lines. I love it
