Those look interesting enough to take a look at :) Kinda reminds me of A Series of Unfortunate Events at first glance. I'll go look at the book store this afternoon :)

Anyways, I read them all. In french though. And adored it. Everybody should read them, one of the best fantasy series I've ever seen!
